COD WAW THAW BINDING KEY

Good day fellow idiots, quite a while back someone gave a me binding code to use as your USE key ingame to thaw. Meaning you just aim at your TM and they thaw automatically.

Anyone know what the binding code is?  I know there are issues when pressing the USE key and you pick up unwanted weapons. I would like to see if we can resolve this issue.

thats what i was thinking. Shaun, how would that not be considered a hack since it clearly gives you an advantage over everyone who is not using the binding code.

its not a hack it corrects an issue with the game which he stated above. 

 I know there are issues when pressing the USE key and you pick up unwanted weapons.

I do forget the bind though. 

Here's the one you use now

bind F "+activate"

So I wonder if you tried 

bind f10 "+activate"  if that would work. Thinking it's the "f" key that's the problem here IDK though for sure. I do think we can figure it out though.

cod4 people might know as its the same +activate command but i cant remember what it is either

No it only corrects the problem for the user of the bind, not the people who do not have privy to the bind, but then who cares about them, they can fend for themselves. That is what you are more or less saying. If it can be incorporated into the game program  so that everyone has it then I would love to see it . No one likes picking up another gun etc. while trying to thaw

In COD4 you press the tilde key  (this one) ~ then type /+activate`, then enter,  then the tilde key again to close the console

Step 1 open notepad copy AUTOTHAW TOGGLER in there

Step 2 save as thaw.cfg make sure it saves as .cfg extension

heres file just in case thaw.cfg

Step 3 put thaw.cfg in your main folder

Step 4 turn on game and before you go into server call file thru console like this

/exec thaw.cfg

then go into server and press the J key to toggle it on or off    Enjoy.....................

you can also add custom message binds in that file like

bind F9 "disconnect"
bind F10 "reconnect"
bind p "say_team ^2Thanx"

bind k "say ^2Thanx"

Hey Key, I fully understand why you would think it's might be unfair. But you still need to aim to thaw. You just not pressing the USE key. Also it's not a privilege, anyone can use that bind. If you follow the instructions you can also use it.

I do remember it had the word activate in it. I'll mess around with in the morning. Thanks again. Hopefully we can get this sorted.

I'll check that out later. I have never used binds in game. 

But picking up other people guns can get annoying at times. Especially when some walks near you while your defrosting and accidentally picks up your gun as extra ammo or decided they needed two main weapons instead of their pistol. Lol

Right i have been messing around with the binds today, this is what i got;

Open the console and type in /+activate this will activate the auto thaw function.

Note: it works exactly the same as it used to but you just don't have to press the use key

and you don't pick up unwanted weapons and loose ammo.

This will have the be done every time that you launch the server, but will work till you exit.

But this brings on another issue, when you do run out of ammo you cant pick up another weapon,

Thus i found that if you type in /bind P -activate (P was my choice of key, you can use anything)

This bind will only have to be done ONCE ONLY, once you press that key (P) it will deactivate the 

auto thaw function. Now you can pic up weapons using your use key again. To engage the auto thaw

just type in the /+activate again. I find that it works better, you run out of ammo more often by picking up

other weapons.

if you bind a key to deactivate ( in your case the p key) why not bind a key for activating ?  saves you the trouble of always typing /+activate when you enter the server.

and for key his concern, when you enter the server, you first see a text with the rules.

why not put the bind instruction in there aswell? doesn't need to be the lenght of a novel, just a short line.

for instance :

" to thaw without using your use key, enter in console : /bind key +activate and /bind key -activate , where key is your button of choice"

 

if they don't read the rules when they come in well then that's their choice. And when they don't understand it, they can always ask in game. It's a nice server and the players are always ready to help others, so i don't see a problem there.

Or maybe the text could be placed in the startscreen where the countdown to start the game is. that way everybody always sees it.

well that's just my thought.

I have tried to bind the /+activate key. But the problem is that the use key in binding is the same code if you look in the CFG file. So when you do the in put it just tells the game to "hold in the use key" I tried everything.
