Apparently the new driver (451.67) from nvidia has been causing this issue for a while now. The hotfix they came out with made it worse even for w10 users. So, I uninstalled it and rolled back to the 446.14 driver. I did a clean install and all is good for now. baldie and loaderXI 2

The one I can remember of by heart was Atikmpag.Sys which was AMD GPU driver issues. This was happening on R9 270X and R9 290X. I got a 1060 a few months back and haven't seen it since. I don't know it got me thinking about it since your post Angelz 1 Awards

Sorry didn't realise you have a 1060 too, I am using an FX-8350 for CPU so we might have a common ground I am currently on the 442.74 geforce driver with no issues. I only update GPU drivers unless it supports a new game I own. Angelz 1 Awards

It only clears the control panel settings and does not save those settings. For a complete 100% clean when having problems DDU has been the best for me and lots of others; https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Angelz 1

I then did another search and they was nothing nvidia on my pc any where. I then restarted my pc and checked again and nothing. I then installed a clean install of the older nvidia driver. Thanks for that uninstaller program. If it happens again I will definitely use it. baldie 1

Just to eliminate that as and issue. Also check the fans for dust and dirt and to make sure they spin up. I have heard of some cards causing a blue screen for heat issue as well as a memory module failing on the card. The error could also be caused by a failing power supply. Sounds crazy but bad or too little power can cause all kinds of errors. baldie and Angelz 2 Awards

Sounds crazy but bad or too little power can cause all kinds of errors. When all these issues started I opened my case up and took it apart and cleaned everything. Video card was taken out and put back in. It was not dirty because I clean it once a month whether it's dusty or not. I just purchased 2 new rgb 200mm fans for it about a month ago. I have a 860 watt turbo power supply that is more than enough to cover what I do on a daily basis. I think I'm good on pc parts. I am going to be wiping my pc again this week to my husbands copy of corporate w10. I really hate the idea of putting win10 on my pc but my copy of w7 has been nothing but headaches for me lately. Still getting 1 random blue screen on a daily basis. This one happened this morning: This error can be caused by the following: Anti-malware software: Do not have any installed on my pc. Driver conflict or outdated drivers: All drivers are up to date. Faulty RAM memory: My ram was checked and it is fine. Edited August 10, 2020 by Angelz

Just a thought to try before nuking the drive and starting over. Awards

The ram was put into for just a little over over 24 hours and no blue screen and the pc was not turned off the entire time. I did all my usual daily stuff plus a few extras and no blue screen. baldie 1

This can be caused by driver issues, a failing hard drive, failing RAM or hardware failures. If it is from driver issues the W10 install should fix it. You might want to check your hard drive for errors and video card before the install. For video card, use one of the programs I posted earlier in the post to "stress test" your card. For W10 users, this program is a must, for me anyway; https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10

There are free 3rd party programs available too. If your hard drive checks out, I'd say your good to go for the W10 install.
