Motorola Razr ? Samsung S20 ?

Shopping for a new cell phone to replace my ancient Samsung S4 !!  Yes I know ancient !!  Been eyeing the new Motorola Razr (2nd Gen.).  Was wondering if anyone has the Razr and their take on it.  Ive read plenty of reviews online, but  figured I would ask here too.  Im also looking at Samsung S20 Ultra.  Yes I know the S21 Ultra is out, but I do not need the 10X optical zoom.  And I pay cash for my phones and can not see paying $900 for a cell.  So any S20 owners, chime in too.  But my favorite all time cell was the old Razr's.  But the folding screen seems like it may be an issue in the future.  And I keep my phones forever, hence my ancient S4.  Thanks

Had the razr when it came out. Liked it at first but the screen kept blacking out when I opened it. Started happening about 2 days after I bought it. Cool phone but wasn't ready for the public abuse yet. Returned it an just bought a moto Z4.

i have only used motorola phones since i was 16. i say motorola. i use the moto one hyper and its awesome super fast and 128gb so its got tons of spaces. i dont know about the new razr style but i would reccomoend anything in the moto one series. even the low end moto g series are good as well. not certain of the moto e.

Thing I hate about Samsung is all the bloatware they load on the phone.  I always remove it or disable it to speed up the phone.  But its the hassle.   They say Motorola phones have very little  "bloatware" installed from factory.  I will research other Motorola phones too.

I prefer Motorola over anything else but not sure I'd like the new flip ... Don't know anyone who has one but it just looks like trouble to me , I am not a fan of anything Samsung but that's just me ....

I can confirm not much extra software on the motos plus the Octa core chips in them I find are really good feature. The snap dragon chipsets are super fast. Not sure about new iPhone chip stuff but I have big thumbs and found iPhones hard to type on.

i have the s20 no probs here .works for what i need and i didn't have to pay 1200 for it like Iphone 12  . can't see paying all that money for a damn smart phone that is not all that smart ..but then again im a true idiot

Yeah,  I always try to keep it around $600 when I buy a new phone.   I like the fact the S20 has an sd memory slot.  The Razr does not.  I always tell people Im an idiot with a smart phone !!

My oldest daughter and their family are iPhone and everything Apple.   I have some proprietary apps I use that do not support Apple.  So I am stuck with Droid based phones.  I do love my iPod Classic !!!

Given the two I would say S20+ or S20 Ultra over the razr. 

A personal recommendation for an alternative is the Sony xperia 1 II (now the 1 III is released) as that is also a cracking phone.

Well I upped my budget and bought an Asus Rog 5 gaming cell.  Thanks for all then input.
