  1. Most of the time I go to www.wunderground.com  and put my town in and then click on the nexrad map on the right.

It has an animated radar loop that is pretty cool shows where the rain/snow is and which direction it's going. Often times I can plan my activities by this map and avoid getting rained on.

Since Fort Smith is such a small town the local weatherman is in Billings 90 miles away so using this website is how I become my own weatherman so I only have myself to blame for not knowing it would be snowing when I went outside . . . . .WTF I was asleep!!!  lol

I made it a point to teach my son when he was young about D day and what it meant to the freedom we enjoy now. It's really F'ed up that so many good soldiers had to die that day.

I am so ready for a good frost to put the wasps and yellow jackets down here.

Fishing should be good at least until Thanksgiving and then it's gotta be above 25deg before I go  . . .Ice in the guides on the fly rod make it hard to cast :wallbash:

I find a cool shower makes those thoughts go away . . .har!

  2. Every year since I moved up here someone (buddies) have tried to predict the weather saying "the deer have thick coats must mean we gonna get a lot of snow" ends up below average for the year . . lol

This recent storm the weatherman (3 days ago) had us getting 5-8 inches then each day they backed off a little and we ended up with like 3"

The weatherman just cannot accurately predict the weather here more than 36hrs ahead  . . . .its the only job I know of that its "OK" to screw up about 50% of the time and not get fired.

  3. I'll be damned if it wasn't snowing.

The leaves on the trees haven't finished changing color much less fallen off yet.

    So I did the right thing  . . .

turned around and went back to bed.

    Later when I got up  . . . yep  . . . .you guessed it still snowing.

Thought I would take a pic of the wonderful white stuff with my phone and  . . . . . . hey your good at this .. . .  .yep the battery was dead.

    I took these events to be an sign . . .someone was trying to tell me something . . .so I listened . . . . .then I listened harder . . . .. . nothing.

So do you know what I did then?

Ha hahaha  . . . . .  .nope only a low life slacker would go back to bed . . . . . .I laid down on the couch

Its supposed to be almost 70 here Thurs . . . I love Montana

  4. that is just so cool. I bet you have seen some amazing things.

Nothing as amazing as you and those circus midgets . ..  .I can't unsee that . . . lol    J/K

Those astronomy pods are very cool . . . .  having your Tele set up all the time enables you to cruise out and take a look anytime and thats when you see those unexpected "wow check that out " sights.

  5. One of my latest shots of the moon.  Still playing around with camera settings but turned out ok.

Taken with my Canon T5i mounted to my Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a t-ring adapter.

One of the reasons I don't use my scopes (Orion 12" reflector, Meade ETX 90) more often is the set up and take down time and you got it going on!

  6. Had a little extra time this week and snapped a few shots.

Prairie dogs in Denver, and a Utah rainbow over a farm house. The little critters kept me entertained for a couple hours. Parked my truck on a freeway frontage road when I suddenly realized I wasn't alone, not by a long shot. There were hundreds of them.

  8. Hi all,

I just found this forum and thought I would jump into the discussion.

I am a long time photographer (I won't say how long)...but my interest in photography goes back to the early 1980s.

It has gone from being a hobby to a passion of mine.  While I do IT stuff as a career, I also do photography professionally now.  It brings in enough to help support my hobby.   :)

I am strictly a Canon shooter, but only married to the brand because of my inventory of lenses and 'accessories'.

    My current inventory of camera bodies consists of;

    Canon 7D Mark II

    Canon 5D Mark II

    Canon 5D Mark III

    My current inventory of lenses consists of;

    Canon 100 f/2.8 macro USM

    Canon 85 f/1.8 USM

    Canon 24-70 f/2.8L USM

    Canon 24-105 f/4L USM IS

Canon 70-200 f/2.8L USM IS II

    Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L USM IS

Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD

    Canon 2.x Teleconverter III

My passion is nature / wildlife photography, but they don't pay any money.  So I do a lot of portrait / headshot / wedding and event photography.

Here's a gallery of photos my wife and I took in Alaska last summer:  http://www.digitaledgephotography.com/alaska-2015

    and

    Welcome to the site.

Please continue to post any pics you feel are unusual or special because everyone on this site is special and unusual in their own way.

  9. Had a bump on my arm that started growing bigger getting red and started throbbing bad I went to the doctor and found out it was

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Staph infection

That bump grew to the size of a ping pong ball before it popped my whole arm throbbed with an intense pain . . .wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Jumped up to catch a pass(touchdown) in a football game and had my legs knocked out from under me landed on my tailbone and that fukin hurt for weeks!
