Cant Play Black Ops Try This

If your having problems playing Black Ops try what I am about to tell you all.

Yesterday I helped Phantom and it helped him alot.

First Download Black Ops Configuration Utility

Now Unrar and place the Utility on your desktop

Now run the Utility

Now I will add some pics that shows what to have check and unchecked in each section unless otherwise noted under each pic.

Note: Click on pic for larger view to see what to check and uncheck.

 

No you See in the first part read only make sure it is unchecked cause when your done and you save the changes if it is not unchecked next time you start the game the changes wont be there.

Now Fore the MultiGPU if your not running more than one GPU leave that Box Unchecked

Now onto the MultiThreading Now only Enable if you have more than 1 core in your CPU

After you have set all your setting to how they look in the pics Click on File at the upper left hand corner of the Utility and save

 

 

Now download

 

Prio - Priority Saver 1.99 - program allows you to save the priority you specify for any process.

prio.exe	32-bit version	485 Kb
prio_x64.exe	64-bit version	542 Kb

 

And install and I recommend rebooting after install

 

Note: I recommend installing cause if you dont when you do the following steps below they wont stay permanent meaning you will have to do this step every single time you start your game.

 

Now start up your game and then miniumize the game by ALT/TAB and start your task manager and goto processes

under the processes tab look for BlackOpsMP.exe*32 right click on it and goto set priority and set it to high when u do this a window will pop up and just click change priority

 

Now look for GameOverlayUI.exe*32 right click on it and goto set priority and set it to high when u do this a window will pop up and just click change priority

 

Now find Steam.exe*32 right click on it and goto set priority and set it to low when u do this a window will pop up and just click change priority

 

 

 

 

Now having problems finding the servers this has worked for many

Start your steam now find your steam icon in your system tray right click on the icon and select Library

A list of your games will appear now right click on Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer and select properties

Click on the Local Files Tab

And then VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE

let the process run

Then start up your game and search for our servers

They should show up

 

I hope this helps many of you who are having problems with Black Ops

it has helped many so far

Thanks for the tip for finding our servers Sun Tzu but i'm afraid it still don't work for me, i followed your instructions to the letter, i got 12,000 servers appearing to which the most i had access to was 892, out of that 892 only 6 American servers showed up, that was after refreshing 6 times, all my filters are correct, i just don't understand it.

Hmmmm, if any of you guys have messed with your filters AT ALL! You cannot change the setting back for each one that you have prev. changed! YOU MUST hit the RESET button in the filters section and then click APPLY. I don't know why this is, but IF you haven't tried that yet, then give a shot. It worked for me when I had my BO server up and couldn't find it.

Just in case you didn't know this;

Also at the top of the screen where it says servers, click it and it will list all the servers A,B,C, etc... scroll almost all the way down, and there you'll find the XI servers!

edit: I reaize that it gives you the ability to change each one back to default, but it didn't work for me when I tried it, so GS had me hit the reset and apply, thats why I mentioned it

Well Sun, I think I'll give that a shot myself. I can play the game with not many problems, but the Multicore thing could make it even better, since I run a quadcore now!

That worked very well for me. I was having problems with several things and that fixed them all.

I had an error message that said windows explorer needs closed or restarted

My mic in TS3 would always stay on

I had some lag when I would go to shoot somebody it was like a strobe light

And a few minor issues

 

This fixed all of the problems and these things would only happen when I would play Black Ops. That was very aggravating when I had to use the rcon and I had to wait to restart windows explorer.

Rick thought it was a flash drive issue. But what ever it was it is fixed now.

Thanks for taking the time to help people out that are having issues. Its a pretty solid game so far. The only in game issues I see so far are clays not going off from time to time. Also I think the knife net code is pretty sloppy. The hit box is about a mile wide. So hopefully some patches down the road will clean some stuff up. So when are we having a inner clan Black ops ctf tourney!?

There are numerous routers that are causing issues with Black Ops, mine included. Ive been working with Netgear software engineers on the issue. I have a new Dual Band N WNDR3300 wireless router, Im hooked directly to the router, have forwarded ports, ran as a DMZ and turned off all firewalls, yet, I can only see maybe 1980 of the 12000 servers that are available.  Out of curiosity, I hooked up an older wired Netgear RP614v2 router thats about 5 yrs old and I can see all 12000 of 12000 servers, weird huh.  I then borrowed a new Wireless Netgear WNR1000v2  from work, I can see 4500 of 12000 servers, a tad better then my WNDR3300, but not as good as my old wired router. I believe alot of the issues with Black Ops is how it negotiates through routers, in my case, every router I try from Netgear has a different outcome.  When I go directly from my cable modem to my PC, I see every server , much like my older router.  So, thats why Im working with Netgear , hopefully finding an answer.

I don't beleive that it is strictly a router issue as far determining how many servers you find. Mine changes all of the time. Somedays it will be 700 other days it will be 12,000. I would think that has something to do with how many people are trying to access BO and the time of day and so fourth. Or even the carrier.

That may be an issue in some circumstances. But most of us never have to worry about how many servers we find. There is only three that are important. That is XI's, so why worry about how many servers you can find.
