Actually I'm occasionally on a con call or have other issues that result in me not using a Mic and sometimes sound at all (Wireless Headphones died). I don't think any of these are really valid points. Having said that there are valid (not my lame excuses) reasons for not having audio but if it happens then so be it. A decent surround sound headset like the Steelseries Siberia also gives you a playing edge as you can hear opponents approach and determine where they are before you see them. Its nice to get to know a person- "accent, diff language" whatever you still get a feeling of whats going on and what kind of a person they are. I know some people get treated different because they use no mic at all. Not on purpose I suppose but that's the way it is.
