I'm lookiing at a 2011 Equinox with 34000 mi. on it for my wife...I have read some of the forums and there seems to be a lot of complaints about hesitation and stalling with this year model...Do any of our mechanics have any experience with this particular year model or have an opinion on the vehical in general?...Thanks in advance for your reply...SmileSmile

Just out of curiosity, why a 1 year old vehicle with 34K miles? Seems like you could find a better deal then that.

A 2011 with 34,000 miles on it? Whoa! Thats alot of miles on it. Average miles per year for a vehicle is 15,000 - 18,000 miles. I havent had any in my shop for major repairs yet. Equinox's are pretty good vehicles in my opinion. The 4 cylinder will save on gas but have no power. Just remember .....there are pro's and con's on EVERY vehicle!

The 2011 is the model year not the calender year...This vehicle has been on the road well over a year...It was owned by a district salesman and the miles are highway miles...The dealership that has this vehicle sold it new...They are also the dealership that I purchase my new trucks from every two years and they are giving me what I feel is an exceptional deal on...The reason I was asking for opinions on this vehicle is because in researching the equinox I came across a forum that many people where complaining about hesitation and stalling issues...I know we have many mechanics in the clan and was wanting all the input that I could get...Thank You...Bart...SmileSmile

4 cyl  in  van/truck  your not saving anyting with it,  ask dealer if any power train warranty comes with the deal

eco motor is running lean thats why hisataion happening to keep fuel cost down

IMHO better with V6 for power is on tap where the 4 is working its ass off all the time

For one 35 thousand miles is not allot these days , this is not the 70s and modern 4 cylinders as well as the straights and Vs

are capable of handling allot more miles (I.E.) if you take care of a car it will give you hundreds of thousands of miles despite

any manufacturers maitanance schedule , as for the stalling that would be the MAP sensor which I would have the dealer fix

before making the purchase and as for the power I have yet to see a four cylinder motor not perform well .

The Equinox is a terrible CUV. You get what you pay for. Get a Honda CR-V. They hold their value and get way better mileage. I stopped buying from Government Motors.

if no engine lite on then goodluck.Honesly I rarely even perform any repairs on that model. My shop foreman loves his and that bastard drives 50 plus miles each day.I wish it broke down on that prick..

also my customers seem to love theirs.I see them as pretty much problem free...

My suggestion would be to not buy an American car at all. They are not built to last anymore. I've had a Ford and a GM product over the last 6 years and I regret it.

I can't really comment on it too much other than at work we are winning JD Power awards for reliability for that model, they are actually built at 2 facilities and our facility CAMI Automotive is the plant winning the quality awards and JD Power awards, you might want to see what facility it came from...it could come up as CAMI Automotive or GM Ingersoll Assembly, the other is GM Oshawa Assembly. That facilty only does paint and final assembly, we ship the bodies to them. If the dealer traces the VIN it will say which plant.
