Note #2: We are aware of the issues some Win8/CoD4 users are experiencing. We are looking into this and working to resolve it as quickly as possible. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

So I guess I play the waiting game

I found this in the microsoft windows 8 forum

Hi
As a owner of a COD4 game servers all our members that had window 8 including my self had the same problem you would play on the server for 1-2 minutest only to get the following error iw3mp.exe has stooped working.

We have resolved this problem by making changes to our Game Server (punk buster is still active!)
so far all our admins that have windows 8 have not been kicked out.
Our game server IP is************(AU) so until iw3mp is officially resolved you are more that welcome to play on our .**. Clan server.

If the above post breaches any conduct rules please remove this post.

It seems there are some adjustments in punkbuster server side that will resolve this issue.

many posters on that forum went and played on the above server with Win 8 (COD4) with no issues

I hope that this peaks interest

I just deleted windows 8 and I'm in the process of going back to WIndows 7. Way too many issues, not really worth the change in my opinion. WIn 8 reminds me of Windows Me...

That is not true, Windows 8 pro (what I have on my computer) and windows 8RT ( found on phones and tabs) are totally different OS, the GUI is setup the same but 8pro was never intended for anything other than a full blown computer.
