I'm sure we all knew this was happening deep down, why do you think on average the rich live longer than poorer people, they can afford all this shit, even our country with the National health don't escape this crap, we have something here called the "Postcode lottery" where depending on where you live you only get certain cancer cures but at least the National health offers some people the "cure" where private health only offers it if you can pay a fortune.

I am always very skeptical when I see "news" or infomercials  where a guy announces a breakthrough, or the discovery of a "magical pill" to cure things.  There are over 100 different types of cancer, and even though  DCA is a promising drug there's still a lot of research to be done. My Dad had back surgery when I was 8 years old. The surgery went wrong as they damaged his spinal cord. He gradually lost muscle tone and strenght and eventually ended up with multiple sclerosis. He tried everything.

He saw dozens of doctors who had " magical  treatments and cures" for  MS. He went as far as going to South America to see "Chamanes" or medicine men who promised they would cure him. It was all BS. We knew all along that it could be BS but we tried anyways because even a  little hope and faith could move mountains. He died when I was 20, on my Mom's b-day. That's life, stuff like this happens. 

 

If I were a politician I would ban infomercials and fake news that profit with people's suffering. I would also ban those paid religious TV programs that show  "miracle cures", live on National TV.  I would throw the Peter Popov's and such in jail for long periods of time. Freedom of speech, religion and political creed are fundamental rights of a free society.  Profiting with people's suffering, faith, and ignorance is a completely ball game and should be criminalized in my -not always- humble opinion.

I liver in Alberta and with the Universal Healthcare that we have, its all about saving lives and keeping the cost down. If this drug is sucessful, then it will be made to the public. Its only clinincal trials though. its a long way.

Don't know if you watched the interview, it looked like the news reporter and the scientist at the U of A were talking about two different things: The reporter announcing a cure for cancer and the other guy saying, not so fast, it just an experimental thing for now, needs more research for possible side effects, drug interactions and such, but the reporter insisting and going like, hey dude, duh, hellooo, If I am dying of Cancer I would try anything... What a joke.
