Well found out tonight I am or should I say my body is falling apart....

3 months ago I went to my Doctor with severe knee pain and it gave out on me a few times so he sent me for an MRI scan and so tonight I had an appointment to find out the results....

While there I asked him about my shoulder explaining that the pain I have had for years had got a lot worse and I have started to lose feeling in my hand and that my whole arm suffers with pins and needles..

At this he forgot about my knee and started doing a full exam of my back and shoulder.....The result I now have to go for an Emergancy MRI scan because I have a suspected prolapsed disc between my 5th and 6th Vertibrae which is putting pressure on my spinal chord and the nerves to my left arm (its not my shoulder this time....)

So the conclusion with regards my knee is the Cartilage is all but wore out and requires reconstruction but I could wait up to 6 or maybe 8 months for that operation....

Then if my Doctor is right I will need an operation on my back to relieve the pressure on my nerves and spinal chord which would mean I will be out of action for months..

This is doing my head in at the moment I cant play cod because my left hand is useless on the keyboard golf is a complete no no .. the only game I can play is war thunder because I only have to use my mouse and right hand for that..

And as of now I cant work because I have to do no heavy lifting or bending and so I am now off work for I do not know how long...Although I have asked my manager if he can put me on light duty's in the office or something just to stop me going stir crazy at home.

that's quite a list bro... the scary part is the back surgery. Hope it is a invasive operation causing you life long issues. Have seen some bad results from back surgery. But it sounds like something you should do. Bad enough recovering from you knee but the back then on top of it... you will be OOC for a bit.

Hope it works out Baldie..... War Thunder is just fine enough of a game to do some gaming. Doubt you will be doing much heavy lifting for a long time which is not a bad thing. That's what screwed you up.... knee and back if I had to guess.

Oh I've been there, Baldi.....and I'm still there.  My advice is DO NOT HAVE disk repair surgery!!!!!  I had it in 2001 to replace 2 disks in my neck because they were pressing on my spinal cord and I had lost most of the use of my right arm and hand.  The pain after surgery far exceeded the pain before surgery.  For years, I had severe nerve pain in both arms and still had the neck, shoulder and head pain.  The nerves that were pinched were either not repaired properly or became pinched immediately after. I now have 2 more bad disks because anytime you fuse vertebra, it puts too much pressure on the disks above and below the fusion.  This whole ordeal has been a nightmare and life changing.  I gave up my job that I loved and I can't do simple things like push a grocery cart without severe pain and I can no longer garden the way I like to.   Research shows that 80% of people with herniated, prolapsed or bulging disks do not need surgery.  Spinal traction is excellent and most disks get better after a couple of months of rehab therapy and medication.

Yeah m8, and you haven't even passed the magic half-century mark. Welcome to the world of Today is as Good as It's Going to Get. Comfort yourself with the idea that it's all downhill from here, and the equipment you started with has run out of warranty, with no replacement. J/K, take care of yourself, back problems are a constant concern, get that under control & everything else seems to be minor.

Think long and hard before back surgery as others have suggested. We all know too many people who have had it and are now worse off because of it. My mom had it last year and is now worse off because of it.

My wife had a bike accident over 20 years ago that messed up her neck badly. She was told to have surgery by several different doctors, decided to wait and do yoga instead. She's still in occasional pain but it's manageble. My back used to go out 3 to 4 times a year and I learned a few yoga moves that keeps it from coming back. I'm not some yoga nut but there are excercises you can do to strengthen your spine and releive the pressure on your pinches nerves.
