I live in England, not really noticed any practical difference between 50 and 100 Mbps 99% of people wouldn't really notice much difference between 25 and 100 mbps. When I changed from DSL to cable a couple years ago, it went from 4 to 25 mbps, and while I noticed a big difference when up and downloading files, it didn't make any difference when I was gaming. My ping stayed exactly the same. I've worked with T-1 lines and played on fiber before through a friend. I really didn't think it was a big deal. Most speed issues come down to the infrastructure between you and the server you're trying to connect to.
