I am currently working on a new project called 'Iron Fight' (http://www.moddb.com/mods/iron-fight), which is reviving an old topic inside the CoD4 community. Vehicles - Tanks, Cars, Planes, Helicopters, Boats... Since I suck at making maps, tbh I haven't done any work with the radiant for years, I came here to ask for help. It would be great if you could help me out with a map to bring the mod alive - the vehicles are already coded and awaiting an gameplay test. Whoever is doing the map is free in the design, the only requirement is that the map has to be as huge as possible. We don't need much prefabs and details... Keep the focus on the playable area first. It kinda sucks if you fly a plane and reach the other side of the map in less than a second. To give a little impression on what it could look like, some of my ideas: A desert map (requires less details like grass, trees and so on) In one corner the Marine spawn: A little military base like at the beginning of the mw2 campain The other corner the Opfor spawn: Either a little cave in a mountain with some training areas outside, or a small desert village with destroyed houses A river passable either by using a boat or a bridge (players can swim as well, so we don't need that much bridges) This is an image of the game 'Stronghold Crusader 2', but it shows exactly what I have in my mind: Thanks for reading and your support! - Viking - steam: vikingkampfsau XjCrAzY, FUNky, Onyx and 3 others 6

Unfortunately I know nothing on map making so I am unable to help, I just wanted to give you my support in this mod and that it sounds brilliant. Awards

Just more than MP can handle before you start running into out of memory errors. Which is not strictly related to file size. Mostly the number/complexity/size of terrain patches and all the caulking etc etc etc. SP can get away with a lot because their maps are pretty linear with details more or less following only one path. IIRC its the terrain patches that will get you first. However for big MP maps I think cod5 is supposed to be more forgiving. Might want to check into that even tho the player base is much smaller. Either that or maybe take this idea and get into UE4. Ive seen examples really really really big maps. And then maybe sell it. YACCster 1 Awards

I have seen a page on modsrepository, but I dont understand half of the listed stuff. The max amount of terrain patches and the max amount of their triangles would be a nice Information, as well as the total size of the map in units. Thanks for the comments so far. YACCster 1

Kind of a cause/effect thing when working with a mod and maps it has problems with. Mappers united would be a good place to go for mapping info and talking to people. Many experienced mappers there who know all the methods to get the maximum possible out of a map while maintaining mod compatibility. Awards
