As a Brit living in the US, I was ashamed of the performance (or lack of it). If I worked like that at my job, I would have been fired in a heartbeat.

Guess it makes you think, just how bad the group is.

Guess we will find out on Wednesday

Perhaps we will win and go into the knockout round. Problem is, it will be against either Germany or who ever finishes 2nd in that group. I can just imagine the uproar from my fellow brits if we get knocked out by Ghana!!!!!

And as for Rooney - what a turd - he puts in the worst performance of his career and then gets on the case of the british fans who spent thousands of thier own money to go to SA and only started booing in the last minute or so.

I would call that wonderful restraint from the fans - I would have been in thier shit by half time - Go home Rooney you worthless wanker

Let me just give you a big THANK YOU Nick for your comment on Rooney.  I can't stand him and have been trying to convince Col that Rooney is all washed up and he will never score an important goal again no matter how important it is for the World Cup.  And, I agree with everyone on England's poor performance.  It is like I told Col before the Cup started.  They are going to have to do something to pull the team together because there are too many INDIVIDUALS on the team.  I see that they still haven't managed to do that.  As bad as we want it, I don't think England is going to do it this year for my handsome sexy wonderful hubby.

Sorry Principal ( i ain't a man utd fan by the way) i can remember many matchwinning/brilliant games that Beckham had for England but none from Gerard (unless we are talking about the 2 goals he got against them giants of world football San Marino) Beckham certainly paid dearly for his Red card against Argentina, his penalty miss was a qualifying match against Turkey it did'nt affect anything at all, did'nt Gerard ( and Carragher) both miss penalties in the last world cup against Portugal, Gerard is and has been a great player for Liverpool but for England he just doesnt seem to be the same player.Tongue outLaughing

I will be happy if they at least try and be World Class. Even if they lose with dignity and can go home saying they gave it all they had would be something.

I dearly want them to win, but I just can't see it.

It's like when I lived there. I grew up supporting my local team, Blackburn Rovers who were shite and were always flirting with relegation to the then Division 3. I left in 88 and about 6 years after (or something like that), they win the newly formed Premiership

Now I live in Detroit and when the WC was held in the US (94) I was going crazy to finally be able to go watch my beloved England play and, guess what - they didn't qualify.

At least I got to see Sweden vs Russia, which the Swedes won 3-1

All I can say is - Go Boys go

England expects, and all that!!!!!

Wednesday is going to be rough as I am DVR'ing the game and will have to wait till around 6pm EDT to watch it - gonna be a long 6 hours or so and I just know some wanker is going to blurt out the score before I leave work Cry

The latest report from the Telegraph:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2010/teams/england/7841279/World-Cup-2010-morale-at-an-all-time-low-as-England-faces-early-exit.html

Reading this makes run berzerk:

"the players are unhappy with some of Capello’s methods, that the players’ confidence is at its lowest in his time in charge"

CONFIDENCE???? UNHAPPY??? Guess how often I got asked this month whether I am happy and confident in my job!!! And it takes me years to earn Waynes/Ballacks WEEK-Salary.

There is not a single peace of respect and proud or honor in any of them (includiong other teams of course as well - eg. France).

Being proud to wear the Three Lions, or our Bundesadler on the shirt? Gone...replaced by "Hey, I earn 100k's a week - I MUST be in the Team".

YOU Bastards are not playing for the win of any stupid or not trainer...you are playing for your country!!! YOUR COUNTRY!!! So give it the duly respect and gulp down any bad feelings! Take it to the forums ;-)

I do not expect a fast and furious gameplay from my team. Sometimes others are just better. But what I can expect from any of these overpaid idiots is to run and to fight. "Da muß Blut am Pfosten kleben!" how we say. The Goal from Serbia would have never happened with Oli Kahn in the goal. Neuer tried to protect the goal - Kahn would have been jumping towards the Serb like Schumacher in '82. Period.

I DONT THINK YOU SHOULD BE PAID FOR PLAYING FOR YOUR COUNTRY. PLAYING FOR YOUR CLUB AND EARNING £100K A WEEK IN MY OPINION IS OK. THERE IS ENOUGH MONEY IN THE GAME TO WARRANT THE TOP TEAMS PAYING FOR THE BEST PLAYERS. I DO THINK HOWEVER THERE SHOULD BE A SEPARATE INCOME TAX FOR SPORTS PROFESSIONALS AS EVERYONE KNOWS 1 NURSE IS WORTH MORE THAN 10 BECKHAMS. SO WHY NOT TAX THE BECKHAMS TO PROVIDE MORE NURSES ? (I THINK I HAVE A THING FOR NURSES)

I THINK I MUST MENTION ENGLANDS NEXT GAME AGAINST SLOVENIA AS IT IS SO IMPORTANT FOR ENGLAND TO WIN. AT THE MOMENT WE HAVE A DEMORALISED, POORLY RUN AND UNDERPERFORMING TEAM. WE DO HOWEVER HAVE GREAT PLAYERS THAT WITH A KICK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION THEY COULD START TO OVER PERFORM AND START TO MOTIVATE EACH OTHER AGAIN. JOHN TERRY IN MY OPINION IS THE PROBLEM AND SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN STIRING THINGS IN THE CAMP. TODAY HE SENT OUT AN APOLOGY IN THE PRESS AND HOPEFULLY HE WILL HAVE BEEN PUT BACK IN HIS PLACE.

I PREDICT IF ENGLAND GET THE FIRST GOAL WE WILL WIN. IF WE DONT THEN WHO KNOWS IF THE PLAYERS HAVE THE GUTS TO PULL ENGLAND OUT OF THE SHIT AND COME BACK WITH A WIN. (I DOUBT IT AT THE MOMENT)

Wow, hard to believe there's this much interest in soccer, do most all of these games end in a tie like 0-0 or 1-1 2-2?  How can that be interesting??

Oh and Buttman, you don't have to YELL!  (Capslock!)  How much do they tax those folks in your neck of the woods already isn't it about 80%!??

Well it is our national game,  if you think there is alot of passion about the W/C  you should pay a visit to one of our local Derbys,,

Brotrinde don't take any notice of the English press, they stir the shit every world cup because a scandal or failure (believe it or not) makes a better story then success, and yes ping believe it or not i think every true football/soccer fan in the world would rather watch a boring 0-0 then any American sport sorry m8 but it's true, it's your country that is the outsiders in this sport, us Brits will love you yanks forever but i think your country really needs to tune into the most popular sport in the world, or at least open up your sports to the rest of the world.......world series Baseball what's that all about there is only the Americans allowed to play, even the Japanese the only other country in the world that takes it seriously ain't even allowed to play in the "world series" so how can the the team that wins be world champions, come on we let your country play in the WORLD CUP so please let the rest of the worl participate in with you in your sports, it's the only way you can reallly see who the best in the world really is.........You have no idea how long this took me to type this, taking all the spelling mistakes out coz i am pissed as a fart today, just cremated my Dad, so you need to get pissed for that right, but i love you Ping and i love XI, have a great day everyone i love you all.KissKissKissSmile

I'm NOT a football fan, but even I was ashamed of our "team".

If a player can't feel any pride when he pulls his country's shirt on, them he should'nt

be in the team.

There are millions of kids who dream of playing for their country and who will never

get the chance, and these overpaid arseholes can't even be bothered - whining "were

bored, we want our wags"

My wife's uncle Roger (Roger Hunt) played for England in 1966, wonder what he

thinks about it, He was'nt on mega bucks back then.

We need some Stuart Pearce style PASSION in the team.......Jesus wept!!!!

John Tams, wow, your wifes uncle is an England legend, please if you get the chance tell Roger, how much he and all the other surviving players are loved and respected by people who can remember that epic world cup final of 1966, still one of the greatest world cup ( if your English the greatest) finals ever, please tell him thank you from me personally (as a 9yr old at the time) for making that day one of the greatest days in my life, one i don't think i will ever see again before i kick the bucket...but we can always hope.Smile
