Thought I'd buy me another fine Kentucky Bourbon.  It's made by Jim Beam:

What's funny is I worked at the Clermont Jim Beam Distillery for a time.  Was a blast crawling around in those 5-story aging houses, seeing all that wonderful bourbon at different ages of development.  And working in the dumping room where,  you guessed it, they dumped the whiskey.  Comes in on a 'Carnival' truck, which has a vertical 'S' shaped track upon which the barrels rest  & roll as they're unloaded. There's a 'V' shaped rod with horizontal 'handles' - for lack of a better term - that's inserted into the bung hole, so that it remains face down as it's turned over the dumping trough.  Out flows the amber, uncut bourbon, along with considerable loose charcoal from the interior walls of the barrel.  It smells wonderfully STRONG &, being uncut, tastes -to me- considerably more intense than what you buy at the store.  It was hard work stacking those barrels for a time, but it was an enjoyable experience.

One of my favorites

@WldPenguin Have you tried Four Roses, Elijah Craig, Makers Mark?  The former being a really great mixing whiskey;  Knob Creek & Craig being- to me -primarily sipping whiskeys.

Four Roses is another favorite.  I do mix that with peach schnapps, or sweet tea and lemon, and a few other concoctions as well.

@Timmah! Is that the name of the whiskey or the after effect?

The two ideas are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

@SGTSmeg Neat, that's how I drink it;  occasionally over the r0cks.  Use primarily Jim Beam or Maker's Mark for mixers.

Agree 100%.  Guys that mix their 'quality' bourbon need to turn in their man cards.   ?

Used to drink Jim Beam & Pepsi when I was ~15 years old... my friend's dad kept it stocked;  used to help him with that & smoking his weed if he left it laying unattended.  Wasn't always the highest quality smoke, but it made for a pleasant head change for those weekend or summer fishing trips or just traipsing around the countryside.

Never been a smoker (of any kind)....grew up in a house with parents that were chain smokers growing up.  Yuk!  Neither smoke anymore (after several heart attacks)  lol
