You may recall a post a month or so ago that Dell agreed to swap out my two-year-old XPS 760 that would not allow SLI. Bought it with two GeForce 9800 GPUs. I didn't expect anthing, in fact I filed my complaint on the very last day of a two-year warranty (I thought it was one year.)

Dell just advised that here's what they're sending me at no cost:

1 224-9892 Alienware Aurora Desktop

AlienFX Color, Mars Red

24X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability

Cosmic Black, Alienware Aurora Chassis

Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio (I have a Soundblaster X-FI to drop in here)

4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz (2x2)

Alienware High-Performance Liquid Cooling

Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz (8MB Cache)

Dual Nvidia GeForce GTX460 1GB

Drop-in-Box Marcom for DHS Desktops

Accessory Kit, Aurora, Eng

Dell Resource DVD with Application Backup

Alienware 19-in-1 Media Card Reader

500GB - SATA-II 3Gb/s 7200RPM, 16MB Cache HDD

DataSafe Local BackUp

NERO 9, ANW

Alienhead Chrome Red

Steam and Portal Factory Installed

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English

Dell is awesome i am kinda surprised that the PC div was able to do this for you. The whole company used to be this way then they lost their way for a while and was only this way too the server world. Maybe they have found their way back.

Either way enjoy your new system Harry

And i cant forget too add HARRY FOR PRESIDENT !!!

I don't think they do it for everyone. Truth is, I "leveraged" my complaint. I approve system purchases for my company and have an account with Dell. I made mention that I've bought some 80 systems from them over the past 10 years and carefully documented my complaint, using their own rep's observations of the problem enabling SLI on the XPS 630i. But I am very surprised that they're installing the 460s - just came out. The i5 is also a major advance over the Core 2 Duo in the current machine.

As to the race for president, thanks for your support. I accept Visa, Master Charge or pocket change. If elected, I promise to sell my office to the highest bidder, and I definitely will be doing intern BJs in the Oval Office bathroom.

Yes, but it's a free and MASSIVE upgrade.  Win, no matter who the company.

Although if he was buying a new Alienware, I would have died a little inside.

Alienware killed my inner child.

Heh heh. Now I've got to find those posts on how to move your profile for three different versions of COD. Such a pain in the ass to set up a new box. You'd think by now that Microsoft would allow their OS to move all installed apps/upgrades, etc. from one register to a new one through the LAN or via cable. But no, it's program-by-program, and then all the upgrades, etc. etc. Ridiculous,
