  1. Dead silence and stealth will remain on separate tiers. Hacker and stealth must be separate also. Otherwise its near impossible to sneak up on explosives and sentries to hack them.

     

    Choose gambler for perk 3 if you dont like any of the other options.

     

     

    *shrug*  I guess I never had a problem...but I used cars/spawn protection to generally help me hack sentries from behind. I primarily used Hacker to detect clays/betties around corners and to replace care packages.

     

    I'm very happy that you've split up one of the H perks.  Guess I'll just have to learn to love Stopping Power or Double Tap...noobs beware.

  2. I'm sad that hardwired and hardliner are in the same tier now =(

     

    I really like how responsive the new mod feels.  It certainly seems to lag less than the last mod. 

     

    That said, I'm still hoping we can split the H perks up.  My primary 3 were Hardwired, Hardline, and Hacker.  I'm not seeing how they collectively create an imbalance and think we could spread them out.  I certainly understand not having Stealth, Hacker, and Hardwired together since it would nullify a large part of the game.  My suggestion would be to stack Stealth with Hacker since they have similar effects on betties/clays (i.e. - makes them avoidable).

     

     

    Other than that...i don't know of any others that create a large imbalance.

  3. Gunny is the newest addition to the COD4 admin team, he is super active on the COD4 servers and is always in TS, he will be a great asset to have on the team. So don't hesitate to jump into TS if you have an issue or a question to find him. Welcome Gunny and good luck :)

     

    This is as bad as making @@google an admin...sigh.

     

    What if the problem is @@Gunny?  Never mind, I'll just do what I normally do when I play with him...curse silently in my head.  ....and that is what I do when he is on my team.

  4. I am looking on how to arrange some perks. Any further changes will be added to beta 6.

     

    In this particular case, since no matter what change I make someone might not be happy, if Hardwired was moved to tier 3 would there be any objections? At least among those that bother to read posts?

     

    Well, I currently use hardwired and hardline.  I'm guessing i'll be losing hardwired if this happens.  That may not be a huge deal depending on what else you move around...if you plan to move other stuff?  Could you post a current or projected perk list and distribution?

The only complaining I've been hearing isn't about the mod.  It is from the people on Milky's team: "Why does Milky keep rubbing up on me in the game?!?!"..."Is Milky afk or actually playing - I can't tell by his score."..."I wish Milky's husband, @@Dukoo, was playing instead of @@Milky."   You know, stuff like that.

     

    Maybe you are just confused again Milky? 

  6. No it just means its not possible to make everybody happy. If, say, I were to move Hacker to tier one then people who want both Hacker and Stopping Power wouldnt be happy.. :lol:

     

    Also dont want a top heavy tier 1 with 12 perks and the other two with 6 each. Anyways, since my #1 goal is the most fun, within the realm of game balance, then I will move things if they need to be. It should have lots of good options to choose from, based on what players want to try and do, but nothing that could be overpowered. Good Stealth package or good r&g package. But neither should be invincible and wanting both together should offer several compromises. Fighting enemies that have both isnt very fun.

     

    I could make it so its a pot luck and you can choose whatever you want. But then you get overpowered combinations. Ghost, I think, does Greed. Which I think offers this. But their perks are much more varied and they have the 'pro' thing. However I dont know if the Greed idea causes more problems than has benefits. As far as the game is concerned.

     

    All gets complicated, doesnt it?  :happy:

     

     

    I certainly understand...I never used stopping power so I don't even know what tier it was in last time. :lol:   I would imagine that the "pick your own" perk set up would ultimately self-balance since many kills come from things other than guns.  Meaning, since you are limited to three you can't really stack the deck...you still have to pick a set of perks that support your playstyle. 

     

    I do agree that someone that is invisible, avoids cars, and can avoid claymores could be a bit frustrating for folks....but they lose other things too (weaker guns, weaker explosives, etc..).  I am certainly happy with anything really, as long as I can choose Hardline...I fell in love with you the day you added that...haha.

Seems there is a problem in overtime - maybe you already know.  The counts have been off the past couple of maps.  For example, there was a round were there were actually alive on each team.  The server thought there was 2 on one team and gave them a win rather than a draw.  This happened twice on one map...another map there were zero people alive (in the count) but the list showed one person thawed.  (actually everyone was frozen).  The server would not progress for some reason. 

     

    I"m not seeing a consistency here, but certainly the overtime counts are off in some way.

    I've said since the beginning (early March) taht the only perks i use are Hardwire/Hacker/Hardline.  I didn't really say much about losing Hacker, since I still had Hardwire/Hardline.  Losing another will be tough.  Not sure what you mean when you say you can't win...but I may be missing some other thread?

     

    If you mean you feel unappreciated then you shouldn't feel that way.  If it wasn't for your efforts then a great deal of clan fellowship would be gone....your work is a (read: the) big draw to this group of idiots.  I know I appreciate your efforts, as have other expressed this.  

     

    If by "you can't win" you mean you cannot please everyone then remember what Bill Cosby used to say: "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone".

     

    You certainly don't have to change anything for me.  I will still play the game.  That said, as I said in my first post on the other thread that you should save yourself a lot of headache by just let ppl pick any 3 they want. 

  9. The one change that seemed to get the most negative comments was where Hardwired was moved to. That will be moved to tier 2. I think its 2. It is late and I am tired so I get them mixed up. There are minor bugs being worked out.

     

     

     

    One of the H perks were in tier 1.  Not sure if that was hardwired or not.

    To be fair, i asked this question on page 4 of this thread.  I was basically asking if the move was to provide this functionality.  I assume by your response that it is not.  Translation: long before cobra started bitching about using stealth and hardwired together, i asked about the move.

  11. I'm liking the mod as well and cannot believe the amount of vitriol.  While I still struggle to find a perk 1 that I like, it certainly isn't enough to stop me from complaining about the things I normally complain about:

     

    - Please don't let me and @@Onyx be the only ones going left!!!!

    - Why are @@TaGg3r and @@Huskie always so frustrating?

    - Can someone translate what @roxy just said to me?!?!

    - and finally, I wish @@blk_plague were on the other team so I could shoot him...

I used them for a very long time (13 years maybe) until USAA started allowing enlisted folks to join the ranks.  I never had a problem and they were usually cheaper.  I only remember making 1-2 claims the entire time we were with them and both went smooth.  For example, I was hit by someone else and the other person used State Farm.  When State Farm was slow to pay me to fix my truck, GEICO paid me and then went after State Farm.  I would likely still be with them if I was not with USAA.

  13. It is so perk 1 is equipment and explosives only. It is what the developers originally intended but they changed their minds and moved a couple things around sometime before release. I also thought about using the original names but decided that would be confusing. Perhaps I should. My guess is that they chose not to include something akin to the Dirty Harry, molotov cocktail, and the AT4. So the number of perks in #1 was too few. Later they simply made explosives its own category.

     

    In order, the originals were

    CAC_SPECIALTY_EQUIPMENT (claymores)

    CAC_SPECIALTY_WEAPON (steady aim)

    CAC_SPECIALTY_ABILITY (dead silence)

     

     

    Even dead silence is better than just explosives....I will make due of course, but just a little disappointed that I can't choose.  It would actually be much nicer if all perks were available at all levels.  Meaning, if ppl really love explosives, they could choose 3 perks for explosives (I realize you probably can't do this because you can't have both claymores/betties tied to the same button).  Just wishing they didn't have to be categorized at all and you could just pick any 3 perks you like.

  14. Maybe this is discussed somewhere, but why did Hacker get moved?  None of the perks in perk 1 do I care about.  I'd rather have a soft perk like hacker to select rather than having to choose between a bunch of grenades or crossbows.  Perk #1 in the new mod is a bit of a waste for my playstyle.

     

    As clarification, my normal load out is Hacker, Hardline, and Hardwire.

  15. I do have to say.. When I see a teammate isn't defrosting, or has very few assist compared to his kills.. I tell him/her to start defrosting. 8 out of 10 times I get bitched at for it by those players. It makes me not want to thaw them, but I won't go to that level because then the whole point of freezetag will be lost. It is very frustrating if a teammate just runs past you and/or doesn't keep an eye on the minimap!

     

     

    You really shouldn't compare the kill to thaw ratio but the number of thaws that person has compared to the rest of the team. 

     

    What I mean is I will consistently be in the other team's spawn killing people, but there is no one to thaw around me.  I will, however, use every car and predator I get to thaw, as well as, thaw most everyone I can see on the way to their spawn.  This typically means that I am a middler of the pack when it comes to thaws, but have a much higher kill ratio.  Some folks don't like that, but we can't all be Reo the thawing king.

     

    For this thread, i really liked the suggestion of zero movement since last round...I think that was suggested in another thread too.  AFK'ers are the bane of the run&gunner's spawn start... :)
