Hello ive had istalled cod4 on new pc but im on version 1.8 , dont remember how to downgrade properly to 1,7 to see XI servers

Yes, just drop it in your CoD file. Either delete the old one, take it out or overwrite it. 
 

Make sure to put a shortcut on your desktop and don’t open the game through steam or it will auto update to 1.8.

cod4x needs the 1.7 executable, or it will throw an "impure" error. Just FYI, if anyone finds themselves in that situation, lol. I found that out yesterday, when installing cod4 on my laptop through Steam.
