Without knowing your problem in more detail, you can run memtest to test the memory and hdtune to check the hard drive

Have you checked the registry for errors, Markoff?

You can try control panel/all Control Panel Items/Action Center  under the maintenance tab look for View reliability history. Maybe your problem is listed in there ? let us know

its hard to find errors like that if you didnt change anything at your sys

no new hardware or new progis installed when this error happened the first time...

as far as I know you installed a new graphic card not this long ago?

did you have freezes before ?

Hmm could be a couple of things. If you had this problem before you bought a new video card and now you have a new card and I guess a bigger card that would draw more power and you say it is now worse I would have to ask you what type of power supply you have and how old. The best test here would be try another power supply to see if it is the issue. As well the flip side would be to try your video card out in a different computer to see if it is the problem. Thats the problem with windows. If your video card craps out due to a power failure windows would tell you its the video card that had the error :) but it was the power supply that caused the video card to crash. So what is your power supply how old and what is your video card ? And BTY its not a HD or windows issue. Ots something your wallet can solve LOL

kk you had this before you bought the new card but its getting worse?

you had a 5770 before right?

comparison1.jpg

comparison2.jpg

because of the power consumption of the new card(almost 2x) I would think about a psu failure

thats my first thought because it was getting worse

like I mentioned a reason for a freeze is always hard to find

I am using a 850W Enermax PSU with 30A/12Vrail and 2x modded 6950 2GB with 6970 bios in Crossfire + 4 Ghz i5 CPU

I am close to the limit with my psu and have to upgrade soon but its still enough to run my sys

thats why I thought it can be a psu failure
