Was asked if we could do this in MW server. Answer is yes but not without posting and asking others what they want to do.

Steadied, meaning that you don't have to hold your breath to stop the rifle from swaying with the scope up. In this mode, that swaying is turned off allowing for a greater likelihood of a kill. The MW server is "run and gun", so realism's not as critical. I'm not opposed to it as I tend to jump on that server for a few maps when I need a game fix and don't feel like a deep round of Freeze-tag.

Thx @ Astronomer - as I said: stupid question ^^

I only administraded Valve's Source servers in the past. There is no swaying in the scope view (wish the Source engine would support that).

I didn't know that it can be deactivated on server side.

 

If there will be a new voting, and my vote would count, I'd say no. I think this makes sniping too easy.

And it would play into the hands of potential campers, when they don't have to "get air" (Although so far I have not seen one ...)

Maybe I see it too tight :/

There's a bit more to the sniper rifles then they have no sway on them. All stock sniper weapons in game have a range of about 230 yards (in game yards) and after 250 game yards there is a serious drop off in kills. The Long range weapons are what were talking about and they have the ability to acually shoot across a map. There are some issues with that. They end up having no sway in the scope and can't shoot through a leaf, blade of grass or a rain drop. So I think there a good idea if you have alot of really big maps. If you want to see what they are like I think th estock FT server uses them and there's a couple on the Nam Ft server can't remember which one we chose to add to the nam server sorry. They have there place in your weaponload out but its also nice to have a weapon that will kill through a brick wall once in a while.

I don't know about swaying rifles in MW server, I don't play there, don't care. BUT, speaking of not being able to shoot through a leaf, can you fix the tanks? A freaking armor piercing shell won't shoot through a leaf. It is kind of funny, and frustrating all at the same time!

Well for the tanks there is a clip called folage that you can use when making a map that does stop projectiles. I tested it on castilo and it does work. So sorry if its cliped in the map there's nothing we can do . Tanks can't go through the bush and shoot people in there as well :)
