Ultimately choosing System of a Down's "Chop Suey!" for the top spot, the list includes bands like Creed and Canadian rockers Nickelback while failing to recognize acts like The Black Keys and Radiohead, which has angered some readers. "Nickelback is the second most god awful band EVER!! Second only to Creed!!," one reader wrote in response to the Alberta band's track "How You Remind Me" coming in at number 30 on the list. "I've lost all faith in America," another commenter added. Ontario alternative rockers Three Days Grace also made the list coming in at number 45 with their 2006 single, "Animal I Have Become," which was written by lead singer Adam Gontier about his addiction to painkillers while in rehab. Rounding out the top five on Loudwire's countdown is Tool's "Schism" in fifth position, Nirvana's "You Know You're Right" at number four, Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life" in third, Linkin Park's "In The End" in second place and System of a Down's "Chop Suey!" at number one. "It's a very, schizophrenic song," System of a Down's lead singer Serj Tankian said of the 2001 track. "It's the last song you would ever expect to be on the radio at the time that it was [released], but it had this beautiful chorus that people related to." Loudwire's choice to include Nirvana's 1994 track "You Know You're Right" on its 21st century list has also come under some reader's scrutiny given the timeline.
