They will readily take most fly's and put up a good fight for their size. My experience catching brookies was in the Sierras of California and because of the high altitude the growing season was short for these fish. Most lakes had a shitload of em and they were all about 6"-10" but for a kid it was a fishing dream. Good times. Where did you catch this one at Scrounger? What fly did it take? I know spots in the drift less area where you can catch 50 10-12 inches in a couple of hours. Parachute Adams is one of my all time favorite flies, but for spring creek brookies I tie wooly buggers with black bodies and blue tails, with beadheads. Brookies attack those things. Awards

Did some hiking in the Smokie mtns and loved it . . loooong time ago Fish as often as you can . . it will keep your head right. Awards
