Today we remember the courage of those pilots from the UK and Commonwealth who defeated

the Luftwaffe and so prevented the invasion of these islands by the Nazis when we stood alone

against them.

The average age of these pilots was 20.

As Churchill said...

In the first of the following newsreels, Canadian pilots get ready for action.

Hear hear, if it wasn't for those guys (Pilots from many nations too not just Britain) Britain would have fell, Germany would have taken North Africa too and had a backdoor to Persia/Irans oil and into Russia from that route too and no second front either, who knows what would have happened, they would have concentrated all their resources against the Soviet Union and we know how close they were to taking it anyway, the RAF was at breaking point and if Germany had kept up the attacks a few more weeks they would have probably won but we destroyed so many German planes that they broke first,  that's why i always say the Spitfire was the plane that won WW2 because without it things would have been very different.
