It usually does it when a map is finished. Saying that I must add it happens every now and then. Awards

Or maybe even in as an administrator mode! Can you tell us what are the symptoms you see right before it does this? What do you see while it's doing this such as a blue or black screen? Give is a little more info and we have some pretty sharp peeps here that can probably help you with this challenge! Awards

Is it a "normal" shutdown? Does this happen when you play games or when the system is idle or when you surf the web? If it happens while you are plaing check your system temperatures. There's not much to tell really, every now and then right at the end of a game, just before the next map loads windows jumps in and closes the game. When I say every now and then I mean that, it will go ok for maybe 1-3 weeks whatever then all of the sudden there it goes. It's got me beat. Dave Awards

I would go control panel / all control panel items / action center / reliability monitor and see what crashes on the day you play. it would be a red x on the monitor. Awards

This issue can be caused by a conflict with the onboard audio controller on your Nvidia or AMD gpu card and your motherboard audio. You can try the following uninstall method which will fully disable the audio and should help eliminate the issues you are experiencing. 1. Go into Device Manager- In the Display adapers area right click on the 400/500 series card, and select "Properties" this will give you a listing such as "PCI Bus 3, device 0, function 0" If using multiple cards please check and note each listing. 2. Go under "System Devices", you will see HD audio devices. Check them to see which one matches your GTX 400 series PCI Bus location. Disable (not uninstall) the one that matches your 400/500 series card. 3. Check under "Sound Devices" and it should no longer be there (this step might or might not require a restart) Awards

What it is giving you usually is a code that you can google or look up someway! By using or getting that info we may be able to tell you whether you should be worried or not! If you take a screen shot where it will still show it would be marvelous and helpful to eliminate the problem or remove another cause! See if you can get that info for us! Awards

COD4 has its quirks, too. Just restart the game and away you go. We all crash between maps from time to time. To minimize the crashing, it has been found helpful to already have all the maps so the game doesn't have to download it right before you play it. Frequently, the game will crash going from a map it just downloaded on to the next. It's just like that; there's no explanation. To get all the maps for a current rotation (and collect them all over time,) use the XI Downloader which you can find on the Downloads page (on the "More" menu at the top of the site.)
