I need a printer that is versatile yet cheap! I need it to scan and print! I have one that has only been used 4 times and it always says paper jammed. I had it replaced once and the second one did the same thing. Can any one send me a link and advise me on this?

Slightly biased but this is what I use at home for my home and office work, not too shabby for an inkjet and has all the features you are looking for Dean.

If you can try to get a laserjet, the upfront cost is a bit higher, but toner last way longer and can be gotten on amazon for way cheaper than ink.

Whatever you end up with, check the prices on the ink cartridges before you buy. Printer manufacturers lose money on the sale of printers, they make all their money on the ink cartridges by charging an arm & a leg for them.

What little old man said! Don't buy ink from the store...it will come with a "starter kit" and the salesman will tell you it will last a week at most...mine lasted 6 months...then I bought refills on Amazon for 5 dollars vs 20 plus.

Just a FYI I have a Brother MPC-J430W

Happy hunting!

I've got a Brother MFC 7460DN,but it's only B&W laser Dean,it has a FAX & Scanner and duplex printing,I buy my toner at COSTCO  $69 Canadian for 2 refills,I print 6 pages/day of puzzles for my wife, one toner last me for about 3 months.i've had it for 2 years now.I bought it at Best Buy in Canada for $169.I used to own a few others with ink cartridges but they'd empty out quickly or dry up or the inkjets would clog up, plus after you bought a few ink cartridges it cost you just about as much as the printer.Laser is the way to go like mentioned by mouselad. If you want colour the toner is more expensive.A lot more at least over here in Canada.

i usually get my toner on amazon.I have an HP laserjet P3005 and get 13,000 yield toner cartridges for 20 dollars. I have had my printer about a year now, and have not had to change the toner once. Also if you don't use your printer very often like I don't... ink can dry up.. toner won't

If I had a car I would but that isn't an option! I ended up buying an HP 2540 and so far I love it!

Printer paper must be stored in dry conditions. Any moisture to the paper, even in the air will swell it at micro levels and will produce paper jams in the printer. If your new one does it make sure you try brand new paper before replacing it. ;)

Well when I got it and set it up I noticed the cartridge containers were torn open. The cartridges were empty! I got hold of Amazon and they gave me a $30 credit! Had I not been in a pinch I would have sent it back to be replaced!
