I think it's definitely a improved game with the patch. It would be nice not to get shot behind cover (I agree SOB) but this patch was definitely the best yet...too bad it took so long. Hopefully they come out with a final "fix the rest" patch with the new maps but in the meantime, seems to be a definite improvement to me!

it has helped but for the getting stuck on 2in curbs and stuff has gotten worse for some reason like in a normal stride your guy can't step over that same with curbs hmmmm

To be honest Flushy i felt my game was running ok before the patch so i don't know what they have done because my game feels the same, but they said they would fix the problem of getting shot behind cover (the thing i hate most) and they ain't done that, it's ok adding all the stuff in game to hide behind but if you can't it's only there to make the maps look pretty.

No i never play with Kill cams, it's when you run behind cover and you know you are totally behind it and then someone who was shooting at you at the time suddenly hits you, they can still obviously see you but in your eyes you are in cover and know that they cannot see you, i know it happens the other way around when i am shooting people too, they ask how i got them behind cover and i say well you weren't in cover, it's 2 people seeing different things, i thought it was a netcode thing which they said they would fix, i don't think it has anything to do with pings, most people i play with have pings more or less the same or with around 50 to 10 difference, i know it was something i wasn't aware of in BF3.

Thats just latency bro, every online game has it. Its pretty much impossible to fix, and you can only minimize it as best you can. the cause is limited updates per second, as well as the hit detection being on the clients end, rather then the server. What you see isn't exactly what the enemy sees in terms of position. bf4 is actually better than most in that regard.

I've played quite a bit of BF3 recently and got killed behind cover plenty. BF4 I do sometimes, however, O'neill is right. If you go to call of duty their netcode is just atrocious, not to mention the p2p hosting (lag switches anyone?). Granted the early call of duty was much better but I think around mw2 they crapped on pc (I mainly played console so I know how bad the netcode could be). BF4 is actually in a decent state, however, I'm worried about the server degradation issues that have not been resolved. There is still lots of improvements to the netcode that should be made. I know t1gge is working on more improvements in that area so maybe there will be one more netcode patch. I've actually been able to respond a bit quicker when getting shot at and I'm loving less explosive spam, however, C4 is now the new explosive spam lol. I haven't played in a few days so server degradation definitely could be an issue that's coming up since the patch and I think servers should restart during their non-peak times so they can avoid it until the issue gets resolved.

Getting hit behind cover will ALWAYS occur for as long as client side hit detection is a thing.  Understand the only reason there is client side hit detection is because of $$.  Server side hit detection is obviously much better as it doesnt require any additional interpolating.  But the reason games no longer use it is because it gives players with lower pings the advantage.  Thus they want to be able to provide a game that everyone can play (aka, they want to maximize their profits) so they now use client side hit detection, or in the case of bf4, client and server side where the client is detecting the hit, but sending that to the server to confirm it is what the server saw as well.  Its the best they can do until everyone in the world has sub 10ms pings.

Or you can region lock and allow <125 ping, but then that would screw our friendly XI neighbors across the pond. Also fiber optic isn't everywhere either... Doesn't it help with the interpolation though?
