I'm not sure exactly what the problem is with my computer but, it has been smoking Video cards like they are free and grow on trees.

I can't afford to buy new sets of X-fire cards at $800.00 plus a set every 6 weeks so I'm going to use a less powerful Video Card for

the next few weeks and dial down everything to bottom line specs. Maybe they will last a little longer. Right now I'm going to put a new

Antivirus called webroot in as I'm thinking that's my main problem.

If you don't have a program that tells you the temps your vc's have been running let me give you a site to download and install one that will tell you how hot they run. All you need is the free one!

https://www.piriform.com/speccy

then tell us what temps your running!

No need to spend 800 dollars for a set of graphic cards...go with a GTX 970 4 gig single card for 330 dollars. As far as burning cards up, like everyone else said...check your power supply (minimum 550 watts...1000 plus preferred) and monitor your temps (50 C preferred).

yes PSU should have a min of 65amps on 12v rail  for X-fire,SLi

a seasonic Platinum SS-860XP2  860W   fits the bill for X-fire. SLi chores

other is case air management for dual GPU's put out  lot of heat

cool air from front/bottom  and out rear/top  so your not recycling the heat generated by gpu's

if cards are to close together , need to make air deflector to fan intake of card (old nylons cardboard backing)

I would think it is a heat issue. not enough cooling on your cards. What case you have? there enough air flowing through it to help with the heat the cards generate? Enough fans to push the air through as well as the right type of fans?
