The hip fire from Saritch 308 is like a beam. It doesn't spread like the other weapons. People expect it to work like M4 Carbine/HK416 but it doesn't. When you're moving and jumping your aim is off. That being said, yes there are hit reg issues even with M16A, whether aimed or hipfire. I experience it the most when I have my work VPN enabled. People have told me that I was just standing there or hopping round when infact I had emptied a clip. 

 

Your router, your PC, your ISP everything plays a role. If you want close to 100% hit detection move to Canada, next to the server room. I often lose to low pingers in close combat, I have to anticipate their movement to adjust my hit registration, lack thereof,  miss offset.

If I am using not using the sights with that gun, I won't even try to keep my gun on who I am shooting at because I've seen the bullets fly everywhere but where the gun is aimed. I think I still have a video where I wasn't using my sights and headshot you from far away when you weren't even center on my screen.

haha I had a lucky run, 47-0 was a fluke and coincidentally I never got shot by anyone, even though I came close. Well, 47/1 because my own tactical nuke killed me, I don't consider that a valid death :D.

Speaking of valid death/suicide.

 

So, about nades, If you die from throwing your own nade, you get frozen as I would expect. However, if you hold a regular nade until it pops, you die and respawn. Wondering if that is a bug or intentional.

@@Sammy noticed this morning that you can not stick C4 to an enemy! Gutted! Snuck up behind Yacc with dead silence and threw my C4 at the back of his head, it hit square between his shoulder blades and bounced off.

 

Can't tell you how much I was looking forward to running off somewhere to hide and type in chat a little countdown before blowing him to bits.

Correct. For C4 and all grenades that is a game limitation. The sticky nade I did it as a scripted nade. I think G13 does it the same way. When it hits a player the real nade is deleted then it starts the scripts that control a virtual one. You dont actually see it but can tell by the change in pitch of the sound. The same kind of thing could conceivably be done with C4 but the scripting required would be very complicated. Too many things to keep track of.

 

As for the nade, could you be more specific about respawning normally? Dying by a cooked nade in your hands? That kind of thing is considered a suicide since you didnt actually fire it (rpg etc) nor was it something you shot like a claymore. Yes that is intentional. It avoids certain problems where you dont want players to freeze on suicides. But in 1.81 I can remove it and we can see what happens if any problems crop up.

Yea, it's a suicide, cooking it till it explodes, you then respawn instead of being frozen. I like it the way it is because it lets me switch my weapon setup without having to let someone kill me first.

Would it be possible then to let a player switch what weapon setup they are using while still in spawn protection?

So long as you dont move I think the game already allows that for a few seconds. If you already have the classes set up the way you like them then you can choose another one pretty quickly.

This is true, i often change class after the round starts but before i come put of spawn protection.

- Player perks apply to killstreaks e.g. RCxD - Hardwired extends to the car and does not stop it

- Overtime is 1 minute longer than previous mod settings

- The periodic server rules messages are not reflective of actual server rules/guidelines

 

Please tell me you make backups of mod settings after you have deployed them.

EMP doesn't stop it because the player driving the car has Hardwired so the car is protected. This was fixed last mod, with a minor bug where if an EMP blows during that one second where you car has blown up too and you're about to repsawn you get a COMMS jam too. Sammy fixed it, but it caused another issue and then reverted the fix then I just left it alone.

Unless someone is interested in making up a dedicated webpage describing all the weapons, perks, and streaks. Then providing a link on the home page as well as a single server hint on the bottom on where to go. I dont have the time for it.

#4, can you list all? From the top of my head I remember the one about profane language being prohibited.

It's not really worth doing if you just want to make it a sticky in that forum. I say that because the PB ones are stickies but the same forum still gets questions about PB help without reading them first. Possibly in a place where you dont have to be a registered member to actually read it. I could maybe make it so the hint only shows up when you spawn. But of course that is a time when it is least likely for anyone to actually read it. Players are too busy running.

I can start with the weapons:

308 - Use this for every map, in every situation

mp90 - meh

ak47 - never use this weapon, ever. Never ever, ever never ever.

Other m4 looking thing - meh

m16 - only use this if you are huskie, and even then it makes no sense when you have a 308. So never use this... oh unless you plan on hiding in a corner somewhere trying to snipe.

All other weapons - never use them, and all the other close/mid range weapons are worthless compared to the 308. With our custom maps, there are soooooo many huge open spaces that you need the precision of a 308 and you have to make due with it in close rage situations.

Sniper rifles - LOL

Shotties - What are you? A chileno?



NoobToobs - Use this, but then fall into a ditch while on fire, and continue to burn in hell for eternity. kthx
