Looked in device manager and for my AHCI driver the standard Microsoft driver was listed,( my ssd was listed as a removable device in "safely remove hardware"). I found an Intel driver that was modded for W10 and also digitally signed. Upon installation ssd was removed from "safely remove hardware" and my read write scores increased greatly. Most people don't know the difference

(the intel drivers are not working for these ports) But was even slower lol guess i will switch it back to a sata 2 (but with intel drivers) and see if it makes a difference. problem is that this system is getting old (1156 slot) and that fkn marvel port is shit. in other words im stuck with sata 2 speed anyway. gona build a new system soon, but i wanna keep this one as clean and fast as possible Edited March 5, 2017 by ChknFngr Awards

Go to admin tools, open services and look for Windows Management Instrumentation near the bottom and see if it is started. If not, see if its set to automatic or manual. Also, install and run Samsung Rapid app. Awards

Also, install and run Samsung Rapid app. checked and it is set on automatic start. i guess if i set it on manual, it wont start unless i start it myself, then something else cause it not to start or maybe it start after magician check if its on ? i dunno anyway, after installing and rebooting about 20 times, magician see my ssd on SATA 6 with AHCI activated and TRIM enabled, so that is a +. but speed is too low still Edited March 6, 2017 by ChknFngr Awards

I had a slight problem on my current PC with SSD write speed being 1/2 the advertised speed.Turned out that after doing alot of research on the subject my partition was misaligned. There is a couple tools out there to realign it but haven't found one for free.I ended up going to piratebay and found a good one.I installed it and ran it and uninstalled it.Tested again and it was good to go. Most SSD manufacturers use ATTO disk management benchmark utility because it doesn't use Compressed data to test with. You get a much more accurate reading with uncompressed data but in the real world everything you use has compressed data.So speeds will definitely be a bit slower than advertised. I can hook you up with ATTO and an alignment tool if you want. Here my Intel 520 240gb.Advertised 520/550 @ up to 8gb length 512k-8mb transfer size.Real world test with ATTO 497/545. They say tests results may vary up to 20% depending on how much crap you have on it. Manufacturers also test with Empty drives. ATTO disk benchmark Here. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/atto-disk-benchmark/ Alignment tool is Paragon Professional Alignment Tool 4.0 PM me if you want it and I'll upload to a file host and send ya the link. That's exactly what i have a 1156 board with an old i7 870 i never did change it because it has a firewire and i need this. But anyway did'nt had time to put the disc on the sata 2 yet. i dont wanna risk loosing my files, i'll just try this and if speed doesn't change, fuck it, i'll stay like this. and build a new system with a 7700K or with RYZEN we'll see Awards
