Bots or no bots in the Cod4x server

Hey guys!
Some players were complaining about the bot mod when there are few people in game, preferring to play 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3 than with/against bots. It should be taken in consideration, I think, since it can be interesting to play with few people when the server is not crowded. Besides, I don't think that it is a way to attract more players to fill the server with bots. I believe that they come when they are ready/available. Maybe, I am mistaking about that but I was asked to pass the message to senior admins. So, done!

It seems that it is not a simple issue. It would be a good idea to have a Cod4x server with and another one without bots.  Don't know whether it's possible or not, or even feasible. But it would be a good way to see if there is enough traffic on the bot server.
The other day, I joined the game, and just after a player trigged a nuke. He had not enough kills to get it. So, I asked if it was a package. He answered no, I spawn killed the bots. Oops! The other players can't know since you can't see how many bots were killed by a player from the scoreboard. Anyway, spawn killing the bots is quite a different game than the one we played so far. 
I want to take this opportunity to thank iBoomboom and others who contributed to putting online the CoD4x server, which is really great

There are people that come to the server when it is quiet to play with the bots. The server has populated earlier in the day because of the bots. I think that auto defrost should be disabled at the same time the bots are. 3v3 is probably the best time for it to happen in my view.

I'm seeing players in now at times that it is normally empty. This may be a very good thing.

i like having the bots when its quiet, is there a way of them being more coordinated, they are a bit bad at defrosting unless you are in your own spawn

like the spawning for bots be a bit more varied

Updated the bots today

1. 24 bots now instead of 16

2. Bots go away after 7 real players join

3. Bots get out of spawn better now so they are not easily spawn killed

4. Added more taunting from the bots when they kill you 

5. Added auto defrost anytime bots are in the game

As I mentioned in the WhatsApp thread:

I have actually enjoyed having the bots.  This generation of bots seem more 'intelligent'.  While slow to defrost, it eventually happens, and they also share some colorful banter to the game.

I enjoyed playing with them earlier.

They no longer stay in spawn.

They are a bit more brutal than before.

And they all leave when players reach 7, auto defrost also turns off at the point the bots leave.

Let's see how everyone gets on with this for a while

Could you make the number 8 instead of 7 players when the bots can disappear.

Just make the bots dont count towards killstreak. The other day i had 3 nukes in 3 rounds just by botkilling. The match ended with the highest killing player only having 4 kills. So the kills dont count for the scoreboard but it does for the killstreaks. Doesnt make sense imo. To have it lowered down to when 7 or 8 players joined is a start, but imo they could be deleted all the way. Havent played yet with the new bot settings tho

You had the nukes with the new bot settings  yesterday

The biggest issue i have with them bots is the way they have been setup because you HAVE to camp in order to get "Auto defrosted" by them, if you move out too much, ur fucked because they won't walk your direction, if the bots somehow have files to be tweaked i would definitly recommend that before removing them. If not, then put them in the trashbag but i am sure one of these AI's can create a way better options file for it if you give out the mod to it and ask it to tweak it.

When the bots are on then auto defrost is also on. It takes about 30 seconds to be auto defrosted with no bot input

In that case i would make them more realistic towards human players. i am pretty sure these bots can do way better the way preform now.
