My game keep crashing on me

Hello guys, just wonderiong if someone as any idea why my game keep crashing on me while i'm playing? It says that the game encounter an error and as to close and the error is iw3mp.exe or something like that. Any idea what to do about it?

Have you made any changes to the computer recently? Add a new program, or hardware?

WHAT GAME ARE YOU PLAYING THE MESSAGE LOOKS LIKE A SIMPLE FILE CONFLICT MESSAGE TO ME. IF I AM CORRECT JUST DELETE THE NAMED FILE AND RETRY LOG IN TO GAME

I've seen that error before, The only things I can suggest is updates your video driver and if that doesn't work .

Save you profies and reinstall the game.

 

Even that's not a sure bet.

run a simple system check, update where needed and you'll should get rid of that messega

 

when i get that message i know it's time for an update of my windows :-)

but could also be that that's just how it works with me

Yes, it has been my experience that Larsin is right on. I had trouble with nvidia drivers causing this many multiple times, and the only fix was re-installing my vid drivers. Give it a try, it's much easier than a reinstall of the game and always cleared the similar problem up for me.

I've been in touch with Activions problem center.
Suprisingly good.
Anyways, to your realeif.
If changing the file to .bak or uninstalling the Audiotek drivers didn't work (which it didn't on mine.)
Theres one more that they said.
Go to Start then Control Panel
Double click on the Sound Tool
Click on the Recording tab
Right click and select "View Disabled Devices"
Enable the Stereo Mix

Trying to update my bios but not sure if it works or not. The video card is updated since yesterday and keep updating it all the time. Next step will be re-install my cod4 modern warfare game and save all my profiles on it. Thanks for all your help guys!

so u update your card drivers and then got the error ?

 

check your sound devices in control panel/device manager under sound, video and game controllers.

disable all nvidia HD audio drivers

To answer you CHKN I have soundmax HD audio device working right now. Do you think it can be the problem? I tried to install the new Asus Bios drivers but can't find the way to update it... weird, i've already done it before but now i can't find it anymore :-(

Next step is re-install my game...

I started getting the iw3mp.exe error alot as well beginning yesterday.  

 

It was getting so bad as soon as I hit the Join Game button, the game would crash.

 

No updates, programs or anything have been added except more custom maps from XI, so I'm sure it's a mod issue conflicting with the normal files.

 

What I did to fix it without reloading the game or anything, is start the game and tell it to Start New Server playing a non modded map. I let it finish the round, exited the game and no more iw3mp.exe error.

i wont suggest you to update your motherboard bios if u dont know how to do it, and before trying other stuffs.

if it worked before, then it should work again without changing your bios.

because u can get your mobo fried if u do it badly.

 

i also have iw3mp errors, mostly when i just join the server, like 30 seconds after.

i think its related to sound, yes or pb

 

not sure what OS u have but cod4 was released before win7 and if u have 64bit u'll get even more problems with old games.

 

and i think we wont get any fix because well IW left cod and wont release any new patch.

and we can wait untill chickens got teeth before pb recode his bs program

 

now for me what works is that i join the server, then wait a few seconds, choose team, wait a few seconds then choose weapon.

all with a pause, where i dont do anything, and let pb do its bs.

that way my game usually wont crash
