Great Guns. I am looking for a Sig Sauer in .357 Sig. I was told it is almost as bad as a .357 magnum. Probably not a good concealed gun. I have had 9mm and .45 but I didn't care for them because they would bounce off a piece of 6 x 6 post.  But I imagine that they would do a body good. I can shoot the same post with a rifle and it would blow the hell out of it. I just got my concealed weapons permit, I am not sure what a good concealed gun would be. I am not a pistol person I only have 3 and they can't work as a concealed gun. I did have almost 70 rifles until recently and I had to sell a few. I kept all of the assault rifles. I got some bad ass assault wepons. With thousands of rounds of ammo. People keep telling me that if all hell breaks loose they are coming to my house.

What are other governments afraid of? That doesn't make since to repress the people like that.  It is like the Canadaian border guards, until recently they couldn't have weapons and then when they could they left it up to the guards as a personal choice. When there was confrontation at the border the Canadians guards would walk away because they had no way of defending themselves. Each government is different, I guess, sounds pretty stupid to me.

I am just glad that I live in the US and can have our freedoms.

Was just mentioning guns with  Mazda this morning Wicked & Toothpick.I asked her myself what the heck they do with them.Cause I have seen some powerful weapons you guys in >XI< own here.Like Wicked Welk said If I had even a toy weapon that looked like some of those that Eng4ine owns I'd probably get put in jail for a night till they see they were toys.I don't think they even sell toy cap guns over here in Canada anymore. We used to be able to own pellet guns but not anymore.Shotguns and rifles for hunting are about the only things with heavy duty scrutiny and tight registration rules and gun laws.I think you guys in the USA would become sick to your stomachs if you couldn't get your big bad toys.Nice weapons though Eng4ine I must admit.I know what you do for a living and you are one nice cool dude from when you talk to me in game.

Take a look at the .380 Bursa. That's what I carry most of the time. I also carry a .45 big frame in a shoulder holster but it takes a heavy coat to conceal it...SmileSmile

I think you guys in the USA would become sick to your stomachs if you couldn't get your big bad toys.

What you would have is an armed revolution in this country if the government here attempted  to nullify the 2nd amendment of our Constitution.  There are well over 100 million guns in the hands of citizens here and a significant percentage would react with maximum beligerance in my opinion.

As to Bushape's question as to what to carry concealed, it comes down to size, stopping power & reliability.  I used to have a .380 Walther PPKS.  Very slim, very concealable but little knockdown power and it jammed very easily which made it about as reliable as a rock after the 1st shot.  I looked long and hard and decided to go with a good, old-fashioned wheel gun.  I bought a Ruger SP-101 .357 5 shot snub nose.  It's a bit heavy but is built like a tank.  Recoil is very controllable and I can run .38 special, .38+P and .357's through it and it never jams.  Something to consider.

Thanks Blackbart. I will check that out. I have been around guns all my life, but not pistols. I have my C&R so I bought a CZ52 a few years ago and it has better ballistics than a 9mm but it weighs 37 oz. empty, it only cost $120 at the time, and it is fun to shoot. Everybody has their own take on concealed weapons. It is good to hear from someone that actually knows. Thanks again.

These are my two primary concealed carry choices. Glock 27 .40 and My pocket rocket Smith & Wesson M&P .357 Magnum. Carry both in the waist band, ankle and in a black hawk serpa paddle.

Good call on the .380 calibers, I use to carry a .32 which is considered a rimless cartridge. I personally wouldn't carry anything less than a .380 anymore, however I still can't find anyone that will volunteer to be shot with a .22 or .25. So with that said to each his own. The field of every day carry guns that are chambered in .380 has exploded here recently. Here lately I have become fond of the new Sig P238 .380 & Ruger LCP .380 (pictured below). I hope to claim them within the next year or so.

It's a Taurus Tactical...It was designed for military application in a bid to replace the 9mm...I have never had a problem with this gun or my Bursa and I would recommend either one...While I would rather have a big bore if in a gun fight; Shot placement makes them all deadly...If I had the money we would be talking Kimber...SmileSmile

I love this thread HEHEHEHEHEHEHE, Guns are my favorite thing.  I carry concealed and openly a Glock 22 .40 S&W.  It is a big old beast, I figure that if I ever had to draw on someone (hopefully never) that they would piss their pants by just looking at the size.  Then I would pull out my Glock, hehehe.  In Washington State it is totally legal to open carry a loaded pistol as long as the law allows you to (criminal record says no).  I have my CPL but again I choose to open carry.  A Right unexercised is a Right lost.

If you would like information on your state and your ability to open carry legally here is the website with tons of quality info and law to back up the info.

www.opencarry.org

I have learned an enormous amount of information from this site.  If anyone wants to just talk guns let me know.  With open carry members they have get togethers all the time.

Thanks all I will post my pics of my weapons soon.

This is my latest collection of handguns.  I've probably bought and sold about 15 over the past 30+ years.  My latest is the Ruger SP-101 snubbie .357 revolver.DSC02044-1.jpgDSC02035-1.jpgDSC02040-1.jpg
