However I will divulge the activate stuff. Be sure Console is allowed in your game settings. Bring down Console by hitting your Tilde Key ( ~ ) Type in /+activate Hit Enter Hit Tilde key again to close Console. You are good to go. Remember, the activate messes with your use key. You may accidentally pick up weapons you do not want and won't open doors like you did. However the key you use to bring down your map, X key I think, will function like a Use key to open doors and change weapons. It's a little inconvenient but well worth the benefits of the activate command. I also have a small, removable dot on the exact center of my monitor, with that dot I never have to aim at someone to thaw them. If my dot is on them I am aiming at them. Also helps me in firing from the hip. I use a small spot of Whiteout for the dot. I have been using this dot since back in MoH days to get around the loss of cross hairs in Hardcore mods. I dare say a few XI have even begun using it. It is flattering to know that XI is so scared of their guests skill levels that they had to move the secret stuff to the member area to protect their advantage. I bind mine to my lachesis mouse keys for quick access on the fly I would suggest this as well as who has time to type while evading enemy fire ? as for the max fps and game settings one can find many postings on line that are accurate and will be of benefit---- play around with them to find what works best for you -- always build the best system you can afford and try to stay up to date with what others are running against you ---today its multi --gpu's multi core processors --gaming mice and pads and as much high speed ram as your motherboard will hold --- ALWAYS disable or shutdown background processes that you are not using specifically for gaming ---if its not helping you kill the enemy in game its not worth wasting system power on !!!! windows 7 running in performance set-up is usually sufficient if you dont feel like messing around with it too much . AlWAYS remember you will adjust to whatever system and internet connect you have over time ---Learn to X strafe (line of bullets from left shoulder to right hip and vice versa ) will improve your hits/kills wont always gurantee you a kill but your percentage of bullets hitting the enemy will increase--- practice with it until it becomes automatic for you to do ---this will also assist you with bunny hoppers and people that prone on you --x strafe you will always hit them no matter which way they move . Just like in real life AIM FOR CENTER MASS ( eg.. chest area ) natural weapon rise will increase your chance of headshots and you know you will be hitting enemy and doing more damage---the head area is a SMALLER target don't aim for it , too much chance of a miss. Practice moving a different way each time you encounter an enemy ---try not to be predictable ---experienced players will pick up on your moves and be able to counter it effectively . KNOW YOUR GAME ---in freezetag the most important thing is not just killing the enemy --its defrosting your teamates to give you a better chance of winning the map/round --trust me you will be more loved by people you play with for your outstanding defrost skills then your high frags. especially if you are the one that will not sweat going deep into enemy territory to help out a frozen teammate --they will remember it and surprise you by returning the favor when you are stuck in what seems at first to be a "crap I am going to be frozen this whole round spot " Learn what works for you eg.. I am naturally hyper and have trouble sitting still so I am more a run and gun type player ---this often means I have high deaths so I have to constantly work on offsetting that with high kill/hit ratio -- don't let others tell you what you should be doing --if camping works for you--- do it --just realize a stationary target is much easier to hit than a moving one at least getting a few kills will keep you playing as opposed to getting pounded regularly while you are learning ! Most important ---keep a cool head and a positive attitude by continuing to play with experienced players you will have no choice but to become better playing with them . eg.. realize you will have your good games and bad ---its the fun hanging out with your brother's and sisters online that counts not if you got high score !
