Generally i get it when i first join and then once rejoin can play long as i want. Tonight for some reason i cant seem to play a map without getting it. Ive tried all the fixes and im still getting it, its becoming very annoying. It actually dosent come up with a iw3 error now my game freezes eventually gets to desktop with a black screen/window covering about 3 quarter from top left corner. I can control alt del and end task which brings up the error report and then i get another cod4 open and so the process goes on only way im able to stop it is hit the reset button on front of comp Any help be much appreciated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In my case it is Hardware based with my onboard Realtek audio card. No amount of uninstalling or driver updating works, all listed fixes on several sites i have looked up dont work. I didnt uninstall sob as i only just formatted and updated all my drivers before i reinstalled the game. Tried the pbsetup had nothing to update. Anyways long story short ive managed to play all night tonight by moving a few files, working backwards as to what was different on comp last night from previous. Tried it a few times few maps at a time. With it in i get the error first map i play. Take it out and would appear i get no error. Dont know why but that seems to fix my problem. Reason for trying that was because the only thing i had different on comp was from joining the ftserver 1 and ftserver 2 the night before starting to get the error all the time. Sure enough crash and the sound loop you mentioned. Do you have it set to 5,7,or 9.1 surround? I set mine back to just stereo in game and in realtek and had no probs. Same here. . . Its related to my Razor Megalodon which has an external sound driver. The best results I've have is to set the in game sound settings to windows default and make sure that the boxes are un checked which say allow other programs to control sound device. No offence but only get this on the mw2 server. Can play elsewhere without a problem and yeah before bob and everyone else statrs im a noob to the forums yeah yeah im sure im not the only person having this problem ! I can play server 1 and 2 but any thing based on the MW2 mod gives me trouble. I no longer play the servers employing this mod. I have had to re install several times because of this. Unfortunate as i miss out on wonderfull servers but not worth the hassle of the dramas one gets from playing it. I also would love a positive result from this topic. POW POW. First one would be don't pet a burning dog. 2 would be the difference between odd and wierd. Its odd you can't fix this issue and my post are wierd. Trolls have long distorted hair on the top of there heads I have well lets say little Its also hard to fix this type of error without some input into what your using I think it was the 5th post from Damage what are you using motherboard, OS ver, sound, headset or speakers with external mic analog or usb . Do not play the game full screen that way when you crash you can slide the game over and see the error message beneath the game window " + set R_fullscreen 1 " Take a screen shot of it and post it here for us to see. Last when a game crashes it ussually creates an error log in the mod you were using. I can't tell you where it is because I have no idea what your using. So find it clear it out and next time you crash in that mod go read it it will have the error listed as to why you crashed well should have the error listed. "It actually dosent come up with a iw3 error now" you also asked for iw3mp help but said this is not your error but you have not mentioned what your error is besides the game crashing to black. It is the same problem if im able to control alt delete to get my mouse working again ive still no figured out how to get it back to the orginal error its a case of cancel this cancel that. Anyway its an old system im using KN8 motherboard x850 graphics 1mb ram and its xp its onboard sound ac97 and headset no speakers plugged in. Yep i know its old and shit but its what i use lol Drivers installed i would have to get back to you but i formatted a couple weeks ago and all are newest i could find.
