Its going to be fun putting this thing together @ christmas... I have never build my own pc yet... So I will be takingthe case I have and PRAYING everything goes in without a hitch! I wish I could find a Case Building Calculator that I could put all this info into and see if its going to work!! LOL..  But this will be a huge update for me... My pc now is from 2006 and just a dual core... This new one will be ALOT better!! Upgrading quite a bit from 8800 gts 512 to this new card... And from old Asus M2n4 mobo to this new FX supported Bulldozer CPU technology... 8 gigs of ram... WISH ME LUCK!!! Im sure I will have some questions for you all so stay tuned!! MUAHAHAHA... CANT WAIT!!!

You'll enjoy every minute of it,putting it together is the easy bit ,its re-installing everything thats the ball ache...I'm sure you'll have hours of fun with it though.I did one earlier in the year and i think ive got the bug cos i now want to build a better one.

i just helped a friend rebuild his computer. everything except for hard drive and psu and it worked fine. i had to update the mobo drivers in windows of course but that was it. its all a matter of luck but it should work. oh ya his old power supply runs its fan at 100 percent now cause of all the new parts so its time to upgrade that as well

good luck, post pics

Good luck, mate!  There's nothing as much fun as a home build but, especially if the main board documentation is lacking, it become a bit of an adventure sometimes...  Watch the timings - don't do an unintentional overclock!  I've actually fared better with "Frankensteins" - refurbs I have bought and upgraded or old shop-bought machines I have ripped the guts out of.  If you have a bunch of brand new components, you need a "nurse" standing at the side to mop the brow as you operate! Laughing

Can't beat the "Eureka" moment when the new beast springs into life for the first time, though!  What a geek rush! Laughing

Sue, you are gonna love it when you are done.  I just got done with my "Christmas" present and am already using it!  There will be nothing under the tree for me this year, but I am okay with that, LOL.  It is really not that tough and there are some great members here that I am sure will be able to help you out.  Best of Luck and Merry X-Mas !!!!
