If you have only just installed cod4 then you will need to apply the updates upto 1.7 in order to play on any server. I think when I first got the same thing.. one patch at a time.. but I think they consolidated the patch. Sure does make it easy when they do that.

I think they consolidated them for 1.7. Look at the bottom right (?) corner when you open CoD4. It should show you the version. Try to install 1.7 and if it says something like version 1.6.7 need, you'll have to d/l that first then apply 1.7. Easy enuff but very irritating. Be sure to get all the IP's off the main page including Teamspeak.
