let me tell you my story or experience i had at a nfl game.....couple years back i won a couple of bengals tickets in a poker game, my mother she is in her fifty's and had never been to a game so i took her. (thought it would be a good idea) well we get there, awesome seats in the endzone about 7 rows up. these people at the game were out of control, people yelling shit like "i fucked your grandmother" "fuck you, you piece of shit" "kill that motherfucker". it was insane. and to top it all off 1 row in front of us was a little kid maybe 9-10 yrs old. the kid was scared. he didn't know what was going on, why these adults were acting this way, he started to cry and begging for his dad to pick him up. they left about 20minutes into the game. the people acted like they were at a bar not in public around children, it was sickening. at the half we left. only time i ever have been ashamed to call myself a fan.

I live in NJ...Giants country....

I took my wife ( a lifelong Dallas Fan) to a game....that was a mistake....I was inches from a throwdown....I am firmly convinced that sports fans at a game are mostly assholes....

There was just a real sports episode on that ran with this story....you should check that out....

You see this everywhere - I am most sickened by the behavior of parents in childrens' sports leagues.

I played a little ball and ran track in high school but otherwise, have never had any interest in team sports. I enjoy one-on-one sports where an individual's skill determines the outcome (tennis, boxing, golf, etc.) but wouldn't attend a team event if you paid me. I just can't be that exposed to morons.

This is the reason they have family sections at all sporting events. If you cant handle it go sit somewhere else or don't attend. People these days are so concerned about getting their feelings hurt. We might as well live in England, the King of Nanny States. This is the reason why sports figures get paid an exorbitant amount of money. If it was safe and not a risk, we would all be doing it. Now as for the crowd cheering for Matt getting hurt, that was wrong.

Well if he sucked I just might cheer.

Hell, I am stuck with Dog Killer Michael Vick who I hope gets permanently maimed every time he steps on the field. I can't root for the Eagles until he is gone, hopefully gone on a stretcher. I wish someone would just break him in two and not put him back together.

Besides, I am from Philly. We threw snowballs at Santa Claus and cheered when Michael Irvin got hurt and ended his career.

We have a history to uphold. ;)

(Association) football authorities tightened their rules and the UK Parliament brought in law to control behaviour at events in the wake of loss of life at games and the problem of violence and abuse that was blighting our national sport. Games are policed both by police officers, paid for by the clubs and an army of stewards. A campaign to kick racism out of football is ongoing. Consuming alcohol within sight of the pitch is illegal and, when matches are played under UEFA and FIFA rules (international ties) no alcohol is served inside the stadia.

If the NFL want disorder problems to escalate, they should do nothing but the sensible thing to do, as you say, is to place young kids and their parents in family sections of the ground. Also, rules about behaviour in and around the grounds should be strictly enforced.

its not about whether the nfl should do something bout it or have family section people should have respect for language round kids in first place..they watch what they say at home same should go in public even if it is at a football game i mean its only common sense

So true. When my first two boys were 5 and 12 I took them to Arlington to watch a Seahawks-Cowboys game along with another friend of the family. A doctor we know gave me his season tickets, 45 yard line I think row 25. Nice seats. I am a life long Dolphin fan, but it was sweet to see Aikman, Smith and company. From the start it was clear that being in such nice seats did not shield us from the morons. the language was way over the top, and at one point I told one of the guys sitting behind us that he needed to chill. His friends told him to chill as well and the game went on (as did his drinking). Finally, he ended up dumping beer down my 12 year olds back and when my son looked at him, this guy says "What?" I went over the seat, turned his shoulder and pinned his head to the backrest. To the stadium's credit, security arrived within seconds and they hauled him and his buddies out. After that, it was all good. I have since taken our sons and grandsons to Jerry's Palace, and that trip was much better. People ribbed us for wearing Dolphin gear, but all in good fun. There is a lot of security.

Not so much about feelings....its downright dangerous with the throwing of objects and everyone ready to throwdown....I dont know if you have children but belive me its a shame that you cannot safley take them to a sporting event for fear of getting hit with soda, beer, batteries....anything not nailed down....not to mention the fact that if your little kid like the opposing team he may get spit on cursed at...

I have great memories of going to game swith my dad that I was reluctant to share with my children as the times...have changed....!!!!

Bad behavior on the part of adults to the extreme of what this post was about is unacceptable under any circumstance. I would at this point of my life tell the fools just what they are and let the chips fall where they may! You see what we are talking about here is simply put a matter of principle! To many people which has none! Remember what Bud Sr use to say? Act like an idiot, and not like a moron!
