8 works great for me.

Technically 8 "should" be better for gaming because it's much more memory efficient and the core code is cleaner.

I also have not ran into anything that won't run on 8.

Newer is not always better especially when it comes os.  games developers are usually one step behind when they introduce new games with old os platforms. They usually focus on console first that is where the moniker is, and pc platform is the least profit.

its only memory efficient if you strip it of all the extras. otherwise its worse. Plus its too easy to leave apps open and forget about them.

Running 8 on a new Asus comp.  Hated it at first, getting used to it now.  Old comp had XP.  Quite a change, and there is definitely a learning curve.

I can run COD 5 with no problems.

Unfortuntely Windows 8 is the way of the future unless you go Mac.  Guess we just gotta live with it.

@ i have it on my laptop. not the most friendly on a laptop. every now and again i keep swiping to another tab cuz of the way it is set up on my laptop. other than that its easy to use just unpin alot of stuff. what about it are you not liking. it is a bit of a pain to set up the way you like it and unlike most windows OS you actually have to tweek it to your preferences so if you dont like it more than likely you were to lazy to do any research on how to get it to do what you want it to do.

Just add a rule to the firewall, easy to fix.

While I haven't played any games using Win 8, all of the benchmarks show it's faster than Windows 7.  Hey, this is the first time I had a different opinion from you. LOL

Acorn? LOLOLOL

Just google Windows 8 start menu, there are several free solutions available that work great. I can set up a Win 8 PC now so you can't hardly tell it's not windows 7.

I have to say, after setting up 8 on several customer computers, I actually like it. Once you get past the mess that is Metro, there's a lot of cool features/updates that make managing the PC easier. One thing I really like is the ability to delete all but the last restore point. Windows 7 just nukes all of them. It's the little things that make Win 8 better.

@@fireurza i had it set up the way i wanted it but when it came to networking it didnt put out what i needed, im big into the networking so much so that i do it everyday at my job, with that i also didnt like the way it handled my gaming, yes it is time for an upgrade for GPU on my pc but i have plenty to go around when it comes to windows 8 and gaming, my experience was not well the first time was when i did an update the entire system crashed and required a re-install. i tried again after a few thoughts, when i reinstalled the OS it went well, once again i set the system up the way i wanted it, down to the network admin set up to my Start icon being put back on the screen ( the two things i do not like about windows 8) When i got in-game (battlefield 4) every thing went well the game booted up the graphics and GPU were doing excellent and the temps i want them to run at, but at random the network would being disruptive and lose packets making the ping shoot up to ~500-1000 kicking me out of game, i did driver updates and re-installs for everything invloving packet loss and connectivity issues, that did not solve the problem so instead of dealing with the problem, i will go back to something that wont have problems and enjoy usuing, i will give 8.1 a try, but for now i will stick to my windows 7 system for defualt and i will boot up 8.1 on my developmental drive and retry it out,

yea you can do a screen print button then past it in mspaint.. save as a jpg and email to me hxtr@.com

I decided not to go with 8 for them... sticking with 7 as I have no idea how it will work in a domain environment. PC's are starting to suck. MS will die if they keep going the route they are.. I feel 8 is a big old advertisement and wanting everything purchased off the web. No way doing any of that. I feel it is a huge security hole.
