Brookies are very cool fish, fun to catch and the picture says it all very colorful.

They will readily take most fly's and put up a good fight for their size.

My experience catching brookies was in the Sierras of California and because of the high altitude the growing season was short for these fish. Most lakes had a shitload of em and they were all about 6"-10" but for a kid it was a fishing dream. Good times.

Where did you catch this one at Scrounger?

What fly did it take? (cant quite tell from the picture)

I don't see a whole bunch of XIdiots pounding Scrounger's (fishing) hole and having a fish fry blow out  :smoke:

I guess some people (fisherman)just don't like telling where they fish but cmon you don't have to give details.

By saying "I caught it in my bathtub" well hell we don't know where you live much less how many bathrooms you have that have bathtubs  LOL :w00t:

Brook trout are great. They are our native trout here in New Brunswick Canada. We wait every year for the ones who have gone out to sea to return. They are awesome, they taste better than they look.post-433-0-45371100-1370305612_thumb.jpgpost-433-0-69671300-1370305641_thumb.jpg

Yes they run to the sea if they can. Those 2 pictures are the same fish. I caught one bigger a few years back but I think the picture is on my older pc. I'll try and find it. A fellow across the river from me in a canoe caught 2 that weekend 24 inches.

That's why it looks so nice, in Canada. I'm in NYC and even fishing in Pennsylvania, I don't see 'em like that. Is that a place that is stocked annually?

I have laid lands on a 19" wild brookie here in WI. I know spots in the drift less area where you can catch 50 10-12 inches in a couple of hours. Parachute Adams is one of my all time favorite flies, but for spring creek brookies I tie wooly buggers with black bodies and blue tails, with beadheads. Brookies attack those things.
