Lol wtf do Anglo Saxons have to with the Scots, Anglo Saxons were of Germanic Origin, there was no England Scotland or Wales until the Romans came and chased all the Druids into what is now Wales and all the Ginger people into what is now Scotland, then they built a big fucking wall (Hadrians Wall) to keep them out but unfortunately that wall fell into disrepair lol, to be honest it don't take much to piss them off.

The US declared war on April 6, 1917.

However, it took time to mobilize soldiers for the army, and US forces were not fully engaged in France until the Spring offensive of 1918. This allowed the US forces to be engaged to the greatest effect along many of the lines of battle. After Germany lost most of its territorial gains from the early part of the war, they were forced to end the war on November 11, 1918.

Although Woodrow Wilson opposed US involvement, he came to see it as unavoidable, given Germany's submarine warfare against US shipping. An attempt to draw Mexico into the conflict (the Zimmerman Telegram) also helped to sway US opinions.

December 8, 1941 was the date of the US declaration of war, but in fact the US was at war on December 7, 1941 at about 7:55 AM when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

This war, while not unexpected, was not the war the US wanted to be in because it was felt that Germany was the greater threat. Hitler didn't declare war against the US until December 11, 1941, in support of his Axis agreements with Japan.

Before The Declaration
US warships were involved in fighting prior to December 7, 1941. The USS Niblack attacked a German U Boat on April 10, 1941. The USS Niblack was involved in the US occupation of Iceland. And US warships provided escort to convoys to England prior to the declaration, under the Lend-Lease Act.

Before the actual attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, of which the Americans stated they had no foreknowledge, the US Navy attacked and sank a midget submarine trying to enter Pearl Harbor. The AVG, comprised of US pilots and P-40 aircraft, was set up April 15, 1941 by Roosevelt to provide support to China against the Japanese who invaded beginning in 1937.

In June, 1941, the US (with about 3000 soldiers) occupied Iceland. Iceland had been invaded by Britain in May 1940. The Iceland government protested the British Invasion. Britain handed over the control of Iceland to the USA in June 1941.

When Austria-Hungary invaded Serbia following the assassination of the heir-apparent to the throne of Austria-Hungary (Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria) Russia joined in to help Serbia per a separate agreement. Germany, an ally of Austria-Hungary, then declared war on Russia and France and began to move troops through the neutral sovereign state of Belgium to attack France. The British were not obliged to help the French in the event of war and did declare war when German forces invaded Belgium on August 4 1914. Britain ordered Germany to withdraw immediatly from Belgium, Germany refused and The United Kingdom declared war on Germany on the afternnoon of August 4, 1914. The Treaty of London in 1937 meant that the sovereignty of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg was guaranteed. In the event of a major European Power invading it, Britain was obliged to help defend the small nations and on August 4, when Germany executed the Schlieffen plan via Belgium and Luxembourg Britain honoured the Treaty and declared war on Germany.
They were kinda forced to enter the war and they wanted to stop it faster like the Americans.

At approximately 11:05 am. air-raid warning sirens were sounded in the coastal towns of Folkestone and Dover. It tured out to be a false alarm due to an unidentified aircraft seem approaching the coast, and reported by the Royal Observer Corps. I was just fourteen days short of my 11th. birthday at that time.
