maptest b8 server todays rotation. I really dont know all these maps. Just going off a list ones that loaded at home. So some are likely very big while others are very small. Everything else somewhere in between. If there are any that are too big or too small tell me and I will add a notation to the list. Will depend certainly on a full 30-player server or a small one with 6 players.

Todays rotation on maptest server. mp_ava_assault seems to be two maps in one since I have seen them before as separate maps I think. An outdoors part and an indoors part. The passage between the two is one of the little buildings.

Just to note, the cloudcity map has a problem if you fall into the carbonite chamber. It keeps doing fx. Otherwise its a nice map. I would like to figure out a way to deal with that but I havent had time to figure it out. I cant alter the map itself. Could maybe rig up something in the mod that allows custom placement of a small square blocking volume so you cant fall in. Would require figuring out positions and saving the data in the mod for ftag only. All the other gametypes would be fine since you arent frozen inside.

Which mod? b5? If so this is getting weird. I assumed all rotations from the older mod were ok.

 

Anyways, for the b8 reuploaded files all the hash checks between server and client are matching perfectly. So I dont know why the game is saying there is a problem. Especially since one of the maps that didnt work anymore was a stock map.

once the rotation gets to mp_dc, i get stuck in a download loop.  Happens on every map starting with mp_dc, even if I already had the map downloaded.  Doesn't matter if I delete the map folder.  tried restarting the server.  it will load the first 11 maps no problem.

I assume you mean the testserver since that was map 12. Took it out and resorted then restarted on map 13. Thx.

 

Which server had bodiam returns that didnt work? Its also in the current maptest rotation.

 

edit: interesting. maps redownloading for me also. Strange.

I uploaded a compile of beta 9 to the .174 server and will see how that goes. Narrow things down. I am wondering if for b8 the fresh uploads are actually taking. So I said fuck it and started over.

So far... and I am being careful about this... the maptest server beta9 seems to be stable during basic tests. Also, the problem maps with the infinite downloads I am in the process of reuploading them to the redirect as needed. The four or five I did like desert dock *seem* to be ok now. Or I should say, they loaded for me without incident. I already had them and it didnt try and download them again.

 

It is late and I am tired so I couldnt go through all the rotation to check for problems. However I am leaving the server online for anyone that wants to download the b9 mod and the maps. Will be around tomorrow to check things out further.

 

Additional info: For the most part beta9 is only an incremental update. No major changes. Yes on this one Hardwired was moved to perk 3 so you can have both that and Hardline.

Map rotation of the day for beta 9. None of them crashed on me. Please give feedback on which ones are likely not going to work well on a 30-player ftag server so I can add a notation to the list. Some may work well but spawnpoints may be bad for one side of the other.  Too big or small. Wider open maps, good for assault or sniping are ok. They cant all be village maps, Stuff like that.Thx.

Uploaded a small change to beta9. Anyone can revive a player from second chance but it requires one health pack to do so. As before, you can only be revived a maximum of three times. On the fourth you are dead.

 

I will try to get on the server this evening if anyone wants to try it out and check out the maps. Some really cool ones I think.
