Overnight, some script additions MW2

Good ol cheese burgers are one of those basic meals. I dont like ketchup. But not long ago, just to check it out, I added tabasco sauce. Mmmmmm. Trying new things is good.

Uploaded a few script updates. Most just background stuff. ghettostomp should now work with air support and care packages. Let me know if they dont. That map did have two map ceilings for some reason. Or something that behaves as two. So that wasnt working with airstrike height checks and everything was hitting the lower ceiling.

 

A fun new option I added, disabled by default, handles ties at the end of overtime in a different way. In short, there is no tie. If the remaining players are 3 v 3 etc at the end of sudden death, then the almighty freezetag gods from on high command that one team must win as the chosen ones. The heathen pagans explode.

Sammy, thank you for all the work you do improving the game play. I for one like having to adjust to the adjustments of the game. I used to hate bunny hopping, but come to use it cause, hey it works.

 

That being said. is there any other counters to bunny hopping then the stun grenade? I'm usually 3x emps cause I suck at aiming and end up defrosting a lot. I'm not saying you add a counter to emp, but if i'm sitting on a bubble, and defrosting someone, a stun at close range will also stun me.

 

Also, any thoughts on the previous idea of adding a reload cycle to tubes? The OP'd part of the tube is the instant adjust and refire, imo.

EMP to melt is a fuck up, as you might disable your own melting abilities and now the rc car is a fuck up for melting as you can be killed whilst using your car.

 

You're working really hard at making it difficult to melt on a FT server.

Just to add also... it's not only a terrible idea, but it also glitches and people are left undead and stuck.

You mean you started the car, a friendly launched a uav, and when out of the car you had no minimap or something?

No, whenever you had the red dots showing in OT, if I went in a car, blew up car, then once I was out, the red dots would no longer appear at all. I guess it was the first version you had going, didn't notice it last night.

Sammy, i really appreciate ur work usually, but this changes suck!

 

it takes all the fun and skill away.

U die when u r knifed while u r a car cause ur body stays visible, the car is so fuckin slowly that i fall asleep while driving it, plus it can be easier blown up.

there is a big glitch when u r the last one with a car, the car gets shot and u stay inbetween being visible (just ur body) and ur "soul" is frozen behind it, cant get into the body, neither move nor shoot or do smth else or cant even gte shot or knifed then, so ppl have to go to spec when that happens. That takes ALL chances to run, hide and defrost after being a car.

 

plz, make it as it was before today.

Ppl were complaining alot and getting very mad on the server, the mood and spirit was getting so worse, it is really no fun and ppl start hating the game or the server.

 

plz, bring it back from yesterday. thx.

Anyways, the thing with the player body while in the car or predator is wrong and a simple switch. Forgot I had it enabled here at home and didnt think to check it when I uploaded a new config to deal with ghettostomp. The player body is the default, to match the other games, but the option is there to let servers choose.

Well yea, I have been asleep. Looks like there were a few settings different here than on the server. Reset them and restarted. Car should be fine now.

 

Sometimes the wrong settings get uploaded. Just like sometimes a map rotation isnt quite right and a map is missing or there is a wrong mapname. After which they are fixed. When this happens please bear with everyone.

The earlier post I said the only thing people would notice is that ghettostomp should work with air support now. Nothing about the car or anything related to the player clone system. I would think that is a sign that the setting was a mistake.

Should work fine next server restart. Thought I checked this morning that it was enabled... but looks like it wasnt.

We played several matches with friendly fire on. Was a blast and sure keeps you on your toes. Especially if you like tubes and there are friendlies nearby. Surest way to be punished because of too many friendly kills. So, might be another option to try in the next rotation three maps (3 rounds of 5) that have friendly fire enabled. Lets see how spray and pray types that dont pick their targets fair.

 

edit: just so there is no misunderstanding, the ff matches werent any kind of permanent change. The players wish to do it for a few matches.
