So does that mean , if you rent a dedicated from gameservers, we can run a ranked server ? Or we have to get a CODBO specific server from GS

The article is saying that (same as how BFBC2 stated) to rent the server by trusted partners and you might have acces to the configs and mods, but not sure that if GS have to do that job.  

 

/Edit: Not sure though; "In other words, you as the admin will have access to your server and you will be able to configure the server or mod it."

   Even if we have to buy from Gameservers, we still will will be able to set up our servers the way we want to, including mods. So I'm not too concerned about that. But there's also this: "The game will be distributed exclusively through Steam and that means VAC - not Punk Buster. VAC does not have the same anti-cheat savvy that PB has, so we will need to monitor the resilience of VAC to counter the hackers out there."

   I hate Steam with a passion. And VAC is not as robust as PB but whatcha gonna do?

   What I'm not clear on is whether we are confined to the several multiplayer schemes Treyarch has identified, or whether we can simply run a pure DM server. If we can't, I'm not buying it.

Don't see where that's definitive. Says you can play outside the wager schemes, etc., but against bots. Did I miss something?

You can play against bots to hoan your skills for multiplayer and their is still TDM.

Here is what I have seen so far:

 

There is "Combat Training," a space to practice MP skills against bots.

You can play against bots on multiplayer maps

Combat Training is a new mode that lets you play with “practice dummies” – bots. Has its own rank up, it can be played co-op.

Perks will have an effect on how your multiplayer model looks.

Kill streaks to be more interactive. Special weapons added to care packages such as grim reaper

COD points awarded every time you play. There's Contracts for you to fulfill to get paid.

Every time you play, you earn COD Points -- CP. What you used to unlock by level is now purchasable with the in-game currency.

Wager Match - a new game type. Put your COD Points against other players and the top three people get paid in the match.

Tomahawk mode features throwing blades.

New MP mode called "Wager Matches," letting you 'bet' COD points against other players in the match. top 3 players win all.

Customize weapons with emblems, camo, red dot sight. Change color of reticle--red dot doesn't have to be red or a dot.

Theater Mode!! Switch from 1st to 3rd person to Free Cam

You can only get servers from gameservers.com

you will have access to the server files so u can set it how you want it

and be able to load mods

as far as running it on your own server looks like a no go

I am following this thread and see that it will have on ranked 18slots servers;

"Game Server confirms that they have an 18 slot limit for RANKED servers and a 24 slot limit for unranked as required by Treyarch"
