Canadians HELP a lot of folks in WW2 m8..They still have parades for them in Netherlands and  Poland HEROES  to all their eyes,,When they walked into Netherlands  they handed out bread and water..They do that during the parades now..

We might NOT have the army now , but..Canadians can WALK anywhere in the world with their heads up..

God Bless them all...

Very cool story. Bravery has nothing to do with what country you were born in.

My mother in law and father in law told us stories of the liberation of Holland as they were there during the second world war so they are true stories how the Canadians help the Dutch people.. Thanks for sharing.

We certainly know about how brave at least one Canadian Pilot was in my town in WW2, i sent this story to JohnnyDos a few weeks ago, this road was named after him and it is the  road i travelled up to go to work for over 25 years, the people of Darlington honour this brave man every year, strangely though he is pretty much ignored in Canada because it seems this incident never happened in combat but happened in a training flight, even though various Mayors of my town have written to whoever it concerns in Canada numerous times, very brave man, the people of Darlington will always be grateful to him.

Exactly what we Dutch people stand for. If they where not there, we would never been born having the live we have, sharing our love with our love one's.

We shall never ever ever forget this. I cannot even discribe how it feels, even after all them years we Dutch people still feel what happend, I live in Arnhem  this is like 30min from Apeldoorn.
We are remembered of war every single day ( remember the John Frost story? ) if not, seach it and watch it. This is what we live with everyday when we cross the John Frost Bridge.
We own all people that have been fighting for all our live's for our grandma's and grandpa's mothers, dads, our selfs and even our childeren to.
To them we keep on saying thank you! And even today, all the people that still are fighting for all our freedom. We have to keep saying thank you for all you have done, and for all you are doing!

NEVER EVER FORGET

John Frost Bridge, famous in the Operation Market Garden Campaign and the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944 and also in the movie "A Bridge Too Far" where British Paratroopers held out for 5 days using only light weapons against German Panzer Tanks.

Such a great generation that fought in that war.  It still amazes me the sacrifices those men and women made for the good of humanity.  We should strive to ensure that their valor in such dire circumstances is never forgotten.

I know m8 i remember you telling me, i will go there one day, it has always been on my list of places to visit, Market Garden has always been my favourite...(is favourite the correct word maybe not) Battle/War Story from WW2, maybe because the British were heavily involved, read something or watched a documentary a few years ago where German  SS  Soldiers who were veterans of Stalingrad said the Battle of Arnhem with it's street fighting against the British Paras was the hardest battle they had fought throughout the whole war.
