Lately there was a thread that a member posted because they had a lot of interest in where their name came from. If I remember on the old web site there was a thread that we had that gave the opportunity for each and every person, member or non-member to tell theirn story. I see so many different names on the ace mod that I have never seen before but they seem to just keep on coming. I believe that is good to have that kind of interest in the XI clan and servers. I also believe to build comradary we need to have even more intraction with each other and this post can give one avenue to achieve this. Okay then having said that I will be the first one to tell my story.

Back in my Jr High School days I was one of the biggest and strongest kids in the school. Whenever we played football in p.e. class I WAS THE ONE THAT THEY GAVE THE BALL TO TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN ON DEMAND. i WOULD SIMPLY LOWER MY HEAD AND RUN RIGHT INTO A GROUP OF KIDS AND RUN OVER them, THEN AND OUT THE OTHER SIDE. Sorry for the caps. During one of these games a friend of mine said I was one big mean Dean. That name stuck like glue and it followed me all the way through High School. I just put it all together and made it Bigmeandean!  Now what is your story!  I dare you  to tell it.

lol, my name is barry, bazza is short for it, but my rl freinds all call "pants", as yrs ago at work, there was a bloke called Eric who had really really short trousers.(well before 3/4 came in).

long story short, my mate Clive said let's do Eric impressions, as we used to laugh at his short clothes, so i hitched mine up, which was unfortunately, really stretchy tracksuit bottoms. they came over my SHOULDERS, obviously sqishing all my meat and veg into one neat package that every one could seee...............that was 23 friggin yrs ago, and i am still called pants.....lol

Shamu.... Shortly after I made supervisor at my place of employment I fired 3 of my former co-workers. Being a bit on the heavy side a rigger gave me the nick name of Shamu the Killer Whale. I still use "Shamu" today in business.

I should add that the firings were silently supported by the UAW because the fired workers were working a scam on overtime which screwed there union brothers out of OT. Two were permanently released, one got 30 days off. On his return he went around personally, on his own time, apologizing to all his co-workers and me for his part in the overtime scam.

I admired him for doing that.

The Art of War (simplified Chinese: ????; traditional Chinese: ????; pinyin: Sun?zi? Bing? Fa) is a Chinese military treatise that is attributed to Sun Tzu (also referred to as "Sunzi" and "Sun Wu"), a military strategist of the State of Wu who was active in the late-sixth century BC, during the late Spring and Autumn period. (Some scholars believe that the Art of War was not completed until the subsequent Warring States period.[1]) Composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it is said to be the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time, and is still read for its military insights.

The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy in the world. It has been the most famous and influential of China's Seven Military Classics: "for the last two thousand years it remained the most important military treatise in Asia, where even the common people knew it by neme."[2] It has had an influence on Eastern military thinking, business tactics, and beyond.

Sun Tzu emphasized the importance of positioning in military strategy, and that the decision to position and army must be based on both objective conditions in the physical environment and the subjective beliefs of other, competitive actors in that environment. He thought that strategy was not planning in the sense of working through an established list, but rather that it requires quick and appropriate responses to changing conditions. Planning works in a controlled environment, but in a changing environment, competing plans collide, creating unexpected situations.

The book was first translated into the French language in 1772 by French Jesuit Jean Joseph Marie Amiot, and into English by British officer Everard Ferguson Calthrop in 1905. Leaders as diverse as Mao Zedong, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Baron Antoine-Henri Jomini, General Douglas MacArthur, Napoleon, and certain members of the Nazi High Command have claimed to have drawn inspiration from the work. The Art of War has also been applied to business and managerial strategies.[3][4][5]

When I was in college I scored with many women and my last name is Barnes, so my frat brothers called me the Horny Barndog.  But that was too long for gaming so I shortened it down to BDog.  My hometown friends now just call me Dogger.

I thought everyone knew of Sun Tzu---that scares me that no one knew. You all play military games?

FULL NAME: Myra Belle Shirley

BIRTH DATE: Feb. 5, 1848.

DATE OF DEATH: Feb. 3, 1889, age 40 (shot to death).

Belle Starr, according to the legend, was the 'Bandit Queen'–a lovely lady who ruled outlaw gangs with her guns, her will and her personal favors. This amoral, amorous adventuress associated with the James boys and the Youngers. She was alleged to have borne Cole Younger's illegitimate child. Her marriage to bandit Jim Reed was said to have been performed on horseback, not by a man of the cloth, but by another member of the gang. She has been credited with stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, cleaning out crooked poker games with her six-shooters, and galloping down city streets with pistols blazing.

She was an interesting character..  I used to play as Belle Starr but decided to shorten it one day.  Anyway that's how I got my name.
