People have been complaining about the rising price of gasoline recently, but I have always thought that gas was a good value (especially if you were to take the $0.30, $0.40 per gallon tax off at the pump)! Obviously others need a little convincing. So the article in this week's "Auto week" magazine brought it all to light. What if you were to buy a gallon of . . .

- Diet Snapple 16 oz for $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon

- Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz for $1.19 = $9.52 per gallon

- Gatorade 20 oz for $1.59 = $10.17 per gallon

- Ocean Spray 16 oz for $1.25 = $10.00 per gallon

- Quart of Milk for $1.59 = $6.32 per gallon

- Evian (water) 9 oz for $1.49 = $21.19 per gallon

- STP Brake Fluid 12 oz for $3.15 = $33.60 per gallon

- Vicks Nyquil 6 oz for $8.35 = $178.13 per gallon

- Pepto Bismol 4 oz for $3.85 = $123.20 per gallon

- Whiteout 7 oz for $1.39 = $254.17 per gallon

- Scope 1.5 oz for $0.99 = $84.84 per gallon

So next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on Nyquil or Scope or Whiteout!

Did you hear the one about the woman who begged her husband to take her somewhere expensive for a change? He drove her to the corner gas station.

Were currently paying 1.40 per litre of diesel in Cheshire at the moment,

For you US'ers, that converts to $10.24 a gallon

OK, but central Europe would nicely fit inside Texas - we have longer distances to drive. And it says right there in the U.S. Constitution that Americans are entitled to bigger cars with bigger engines because we eat more than you folks and are a lot fatter. We just can't fit into those little toy cars you drive over there. As well, we have bigger lawns (we also have bigger dicks but that's another discussion.)

what? central europe would nicely fit inside texas? lmao

texas is as big as germany and germany is only 1/6 or 1/7 of central europe. Wink

we have a lot of american soldiers based here in germany and they have their own gas stations where they pay as much as you do in the states... but do they have longer distance to drive? nope. Tongue out

it's a fact that your gas is cheaper. there is no need to find excuses. be glad!! Laughing

Uh, Texas is twice the sie of Germany - 268,000 vs. 137,000 square miles - and I said "Central Europe" would fit inside Texas, as this map demonstrates: http://goeurope.about.com/od/europeanmaps/l/bl-country-size-comparison-map.htm

I disagree

Revolution is the way forward for us Brits, on average, we pay 80% of what we earn back to the government in one way or another with various different taxes and shit, the only way forward for us is revolution,

Easy fix.

Get rid of the Royals, eliminate their upkeep and spread their wealth around to the people.

I am not sure what constructive thing they do for England anyway.

Currently where I am: $1.45 a litre and I am not happy as it has gone up 10 cents in a week. That's equivalent to:

5.48/gallon

1.01 euro/litre

0.88 pence/litre

Maybe I'm not that badly off after all, though my car has a 75 litre tank...

Dam now I feel a little better that we only pay a half of arm to fill our cars up. LOL  Remember not so long ago when gas was $1.85 per gallon here.
