I think the problems experienced on a lot of the pages were do to relying on external sites, wastebook, top 100, photobucket, etc. There are a lot of external variables that come in to play and for me they were more about network performance than the actual XI site performance. BTW I noticed hiding the module does help just because it does not have to load the external images. The member images for some reason (to me) was the worst.
