It IS whiskey, & I'll give your the reason why: Whisky is defined an alcoholic distillate from a fermented mash of grain produced at less than 190 proof. Bourbon whiskey is defined as being made in the U.S. from at least 51% & no more than 79% corn, & aged for at least 2 years in charred barrels made of new oak.
