Beta issues I am sure. Rewrote the telefrag so that the RC player should respawn at a normal spawn point instead. But want to do some more testing.  Also a few other things. My goal is to fix as many as I can today and get a new mod ff to Rugger this evening. It likely wont fix all the problems but hopefully improve things.

 

Couple questions: Do many players use the crossbow? Has anybody used the RC or another like it while you have active clays or c4 planted?

Yes and yes to both of your questions...I love the crossbow on the sniper maps and will plant clays and as an RC becomes available, I'll use it.  Is that part of the issue?  Do the clays need to disappear if you use your RC car???

Setting clay counts after using RC seems to work without problems. But it looks like after RC respawn a clay model (or a Betty, not sure what the server has) is reattached to the player body on the hip even if both clays are planted already and there is no inventory. Might simply be doing things in the wrong order and setting clay count needs to be done differently.

the map deliberation is the one map that is way too big for freeze tag

you are right on the Telefragging, we(red) team 5 of us was in the area of the (blue) team,  we blowed up the car and we all went back to the spawn point.

we did this twice last night.

 

now if you do have a car, you can drive around find players, drive back and blow up the car and run a shoot other players, before they know what happen. (respawn where the car blows up at)

 

frozen and climb out, it happen twice last night ( not sure how that happen ) will try to see if it can happen tonight. (one of the guys said he things he held his fire button down (froze bubble and could still fire but not be killed).

it's kind of like climbing out of your bubble on a ladder but you can shoot.

 

but all and all running great, and thanks for the work you have been doing.

Ok thx for that. There is a built in function for telefrag checks, and is used at the beginning of the round for example so each person has his own spawn. Or best that can be done with large teams. But... dummy that I am... I didnt realize that the checks didnt actually tell which player was in the way. Just that someone was there. So voila, everyone is respawned.

 

I really appreciate all the debugging help.

playing today and when server gets filled..pings still skyrocket....and let the lag begin. Most folks tough it out, but it can be a tad frustrating. Im just curious if it is something to do with who carries the server..or something to that effect. I know we have had it in chicago and new york, makes me no nevermind, my ping is about the same normally, and my gameplay stilll sucks ass. Just thought i would let you all know.

Thanks Billy, I wonder if the new mod has more stuff going on in it and thats why the other mod when its at 24 wont lag but this one will. I bet if we drop this server down to 22 it wouldnt lag either. Lets see what happens when the final version is done

We just had another telefrag on POW camp map and the server automatically 999'd out everybody without it recovering within a minute.  Still sitting here as I type this and half of the people are leaving.  I think we need to figure out that telefrag issue before anything else...

i say bring back V.2 alot of great maps and good mix of all types all the new ones seem to be more focused on snipers

Cobra I think I talked to you in the server the night I was on to get me the names of the maps to get rid of, might not of been but can you get the map names.

The mod doesnt change the maps, all I was trying to do was put some new maps in to give it a new feel since the mod was basically the same as 1.4.

 

I think I'm just gonna use stock maps on the beta mod for now until we can figure out the bugs in the mod

New maps are great, for once we have no rabbits everywhere on the field. It is the mod which have problems not maps.

Yeah guess you're right. If we want test well and objectively, we have to play on known maps.

alot of the new maps are getn complaints even by admins some are good but others alot of people dont like including some admins i heard say that some maps suck on there think alot of people like the custom maps that are played on V.2 or 1.4...im just the only one that posted bout it i guess ....i ve been playin since last march and bunny hoppin allowd so why do people bitch bout the so calld rabbits still....

My opinion about jumping : 
>> On 1.2/1.4 we can : run/jump/run/jump/run/... and Fire in the same time (like in CS ^^)
>> On the old one and on the FT1 it is : run/jump/walk/run/jump/walk/... and each time we fire, then we have to walk a little bit before jumping again.
This is a big difference in game since the 1.2/1.4, and everybody know it, isn't it? Obviously it's allowed and fortunatly!! But personnaly I don't like it, it ruins the freeze tag game to see people jumping everywhere instead of be tactical a little more Frown
So, need to sleep a little, good night! Smile
