We've had a pretty good discussion going in the members area on beer. It's time to open it up to everybody. We appear to have a ton of beer lovers on XI. Time to discuss something most people here seem to love.

So what are your favorites and why? Perhaps we can start an XI beer club.

Somersby! Its a apple/pear cider beer from Denmark. The LCBO here in town runs out of it within 2 days of hitting the shelves. It was only recently cleared for sale in the LCBO. It has become a hit in my area since a new bar called BEERTOWN opened up serving 98 kinds of beer, Somersby being one of them. I am currently waiting for a new batch to arrive at the LCBO. So if there are any Danes here in the clan who felt like sending a Canadian a keg or two of the stuff i would be greatly appreciative LOL

Was in Cleveland in November and was taken to the Great Lakes Brewing Company.

Best beer i tried was the Dortmond Gold. I've tried to get some sent over to Norway but no luck so far. Great balance of sweetness and malt taste.

The x-mas Ale was also a winner, but only in small doses....

you guys from the states need to try this.

Some good ones in Wisconsin. Ale Asylum's Bedlam is a nice Belgian IPA. Their Ambergedden a solid amber. My go to summer beer is either New Glarus Spotted Cow or the Capitol Brewery's Supper Club, the former is a farmhouse ale and the latter a nice lager.

Canadian pale ales - Molson's in particular. Grew up on them and never found anything better for my particular taste buds.

I don't doubt that Duvel is an interesting beer Shooter.

Belgium's few sources of water are no doubt fed by the effluent from Paris and suburbs which are only 200-some miles distant. Since piss clearly flows downhill, it stands to reason that Belgium beers are mostly made up of recycled French wine, which lends them a distinctive flavor and aroma.

I grew up on Bud, Schlitz, Carling Black Label and Pabst Blue Ribbon. I can still manage to drink them on rare occasions at family get-togethers.

Every city I visit I try the local beers. I think it's a toss up between Lake Port in Canada or Otteinger in Germany.

Sorry, but as an American myself, our beers SUCK! Can't stand Bud or Miller products. Then went to Gemany and I've been spoiled ever since. Most all I drink are German beers - too many to note. But a few more readily available are Becks, St.Paulie Girl and one from the area my sister company in Germany is, Bitburger is the popular Pilsner. I can get it locally! I do like some local breweries beers, Sam Adams (closet to German beer than any) and a good summer beer is Leinenkugels Summer Shandy (they're from Wisconsin). Summer Shandy has lemonade in it, kind of like having a Corunna with the lime. Drinking one right now!!
