Stop using crutches to quit a habit.

I quit 12 years ago after saying to myself that I would NOT pay $4.16 for a stinking pack of cigarettes.

You have to quit cold turkey and go without. After two weeks you will be fine but I can tell you the urge to smoke will never leave.

All someone has to do is mention cigarettes and my mouth will water. It takes will power and you can never have one again......ever..........not even if you are a good boy......understand?????

All it takes is one and you will be back on them.

Sorry if that sounds harsh but Cigs are a drug and you have to break yourself from them..... using patches and other crutches just makes someone else money instead of the cigarette companies. All using patches does is make it harder to get over the nicotine fix.

Same story here, I smoked a long time and quit cold turkey, it was hell like you said, but two weeks and the bad cravings will be gone. Like Arti said you will always have that little voice in your head telling you that you want a cig every now and then. DO NOT HAVE EVEN 1 DRAG or you will be done. Good luck

hats off to you but cold turkey is best and lasting as far as Ive see,now i didn't smoke but I chewed for about 15yrs ,so for chew its as addictive and some say more-so.I basically went cold turkey and ordered 20 tins of flavored mint shredded leaves online till I didnt have the cravings ...about 2months later I was not dipping anymore but since gained 25lbs.....I finally lost the 25 woohoo....4 yrs later

i started when i was 36 smoked for 4 years my wife said she'd would not marry a smoker . i laughed and said i didn't smoke when we got married :w00t: . but when are daughter had her 10th birthday she asked me to quit and i did and you know what it was very hard .i went cold turkey and to this day 9 1/2 years later i have that same last pack on my wall in my shop to remind me to never start again. another thing that helped is i stayed away from other smokers :smoke: . the temptation was to strong . good luck and i hope you succeed for yourself and the people around you . and i agree the 1st couple of weeks were very hard .

ya i smoked and dipped lol i am doing the patches cuz i cant go full cold turkey and deal with a 4 year old and 18 mo old at the same time... i want my kids to live... and seeing that i watch them all day i figured it be best to deal with the mental part first... patches only give enough nicotine to deal with the physical withdrawl symptoms
